What do you think of my play? What do you think of my play?

This is a local game I go to every Thursday it has roughly 20 players each time. I've cashed 7 out of 9 times. (top 5) anyways, towards the end of the touranent the structure is so bad everyone has like 8bbs and they don't understand push fold strategy. So I just get moved to the final table, and I have 25k in chips (started with 7k) blinds are 2k/4k. And I draw BB. Wee.. Everyone folds to the SB and he completes it to 4k. I look down at 64o and shove all in. He has me covered. But he is one of the loosest players at the game. What do you think about this play?

I wouldn't shove here for these reasons (but who knows what donks in donkaments are thinking):

1. If he has a medium strength hand, he would raise for semi-value and taking down BB, which is humongous right now.

2. If he has a crap hand and you're aggressive, he would lay down without giving up 2k, which is humongous right now (lol).

3. If he has a very strong hand, he would allow you a chance to shove pre-flop, or hang yourself on the flop.

But hey what do I know, he might just think that he has already committed half of BB, why not see the flop cheap.

we need to know how much SB has in his stack. This isn't a cash game so we need to know how much he covers you by. also how loose is he? Is he loose because he limps alot or will he call off shove light just to gamble? probably not a good play.

At my local game there's a lot of limping even when the blinds get this high, rarely ever do I see people giving up there SB it's liveaments, lol. From the way he picked up the chips it seemed like he was saying meh I already have half the money in and was expecting me just to check. Fwiw I'm 18 and everyone there is 40 years old and they just think I'm a dumb lucky kid. I get berated for shoving AK, just random standart plays.

He had about 30k, and he is loose because he limps a lot, he plays post flop abc though. I was thinking he would give me respect based on last week when I shoved with queens and he called with AJ and I knocked him out of the tournament.

If that's the case, I would shove as well.

agree. however, be very, very careful in the future. you probably should have acted pissed and mucked your cards like you had a worthy hand.

next time this guy is SB and limps he's going to have a monster. he will set you up if he has half a brain.

Don't do that. In a cash game you can show stupid hands or bluffs to get people playing back at you because you want action

In a tournament you want fold equity in future bvb spots or late position shoves
