I'm not a true reg, kinda divide my time between online fullring, 6max, some MTT, and live play. Have played with you a couple of times but no real history.

You're not being cocky at all in this well, in fact I really like how you also play guitar lol. I used to be in a band and taught myself guitar and wrote songs for the band etc.. it's definitely a lot more than just music to me.. guitar/the band experience, like poker's swings, can teach you a lot about yourself and life.. sounds philosophical but it's true and I'm sure you'd agree. There are so many ways to go about improving at guitar just like there's many styles to learning/playing poker but in the end dedication is what counts and it's so true with anything in life, the more time you put in the better you get at something.

btw Gibson Lespaul is the ****... I love that fat juicy sound.. to go with Marshall amp(I got a 90s edition JCM900 quad box) and a Big Muff pedal(made in USSR no less) and you're back in the 70s without the need to be that old lol.

Depends on the type of music you play, but Les Pauls are arguably the best all around guitar. They play well, look great, and most importantly sound great. Les Paul => Marshall and Fender => Fender are the best combos imo.

***** the is an aid, not an ad *******

I might be able to get a decent deal on Germino custom tube amps, if anyone is interested. Probably only 10-15%....but these guys don't discount new. Unsure of refurbs. I also can get Reinhardt tube amps,,,, not as well know.

I manufacture items for both companies.

Grad school, or Booth? If Grad school, which one / what do you study obv? I finished undergrad here in '08. Do you get depressed and/or contemplate suicide during the winter months at the UofC? Are the grad school womenz as disgustingly un-attractive and cold as the undergrad girls?

edit: just saw you study stat? Do you teach any undergrad stat/comp sci classes? Can you grade inflate or slide a couple of my friends?

Do you have any tips on playing those super long sessions you mentioned (12 hours?) while playing A game the whole way? (obv meant for 24 tabling, 12 hours live doesn't apply...)

what's a good range to call a stop-n-go from a MTT pro with 12bb's who flats your minopen from the button on the BB and jams a 972r board.

do you think tournament players compete with cash players skill wise, if so/not why do you think this is?

how many regs do you expect to remain in your games 2 full years from now. % is fine.

biggest pot won/lost?

when you moved up do you remember any "that guy owned the **** out of me" spots? who was it?

are there any single hands youd consider defining in your career?

I can really only comment on the past year or so because before that I was playing tournies. The one thing I have noticed (someone else said this earlier in the Stars regs thread) is that the cash game is just way more aggro these days. None of the nits are nits anymore and I see more and more people every day make a play I didn't think they were capable of.

The play is just way better these days.

12 hour sessions:

But lol at playing my A game the whole way. I play my A game like probably around 10% of the time. The good news is that I play my B+ game 89% of the time.

Depends on my stack size but I'm calling with any gutter with an over and just about any pair.

I think tournament players (the good ones) read hands as well as cash players. I do think in general that the play is better at the cash level because we spend so much more time than them playing with 100+ BBs. I will also say that I think the top 1% of cash game players online are more skilled than the top 1% of MTT players. That of course, is pure speculation and opinion.

~90%

Won, like 6k I think. Lost=16k.

Yes, it was agx. He used to three bet the sht out of me. I thought he was some crazy aggro maniac but every time I looked him up he had KK+. Then I realized he was just a nit who happened to get KK every time i had QQ.

I think the most defining hand I can think of was earlier this year (at work, can't get the HH). I three bet Marccus to 10x with AK vs his CO raise and he called in position. and the flop came K66. I bet like 66 bucks or something. The turn came like a 5 or something and checked (to tarp obv). Marc, being the SOB that he is, checked back. The river came K and I bet like 150 and he shoved over the top of me. I called and he had JJ. My original thought was "lol, what a donkey." Then I realized later what had happened. That hand really helped my progression into thinking a lot more deeply about the game. I will try to pull up this HH later.

1. I used to trade. I decided I would add more value by being a developer. We market make equity options. I traded Metal and Industrial stocks originally. Then I got moved to the Biotech book of stock options. Basically these are the most annoy securities ever. You basically have to sell the sh*t out of them and just pray that they don't come out with a breakthrough drug. It was so stressful trading that book. They basically let me do whatever I want there so I told my boss I was going to focus on the programming part of the job. I basically write code and oversee project completion for the most part now. My job really is awesome.

2. I am generally really tired when I play, which is why I rarely bring my A game. I am motivated because I am extremely competitive, like to the point where it is a character flaw. I am also an action junkie so I like need my fix of gamble for the day. I get my motivation from money, and my hard work ethic comes from my parents. I remember when my mom started her company, she would work like 18 hours a day. But I basically have a combination of grinding genes and character flaws that makes me maniacal enough to actually do what I'm doing.

3. I actually used to need like 8 hours every night or I was in bad shape for the day. My body just adjusted and now I never get more than 6, except once in a while I will get home from work and just go to bed and sleep for like 12 hours. I'm kind of like a poker bear.

4. All I can say is that if you're going for elite or want to play a certain amount that you need to plan very carefully. Whether you break it down by week or month or whatever, you need to plan for when you are going to miss days. Like I know that I need to get 21k every week. If I don't play a lot during the week I will grind all weekend to make up for it.

Man, I haven't had chips ahoy in so long. I remember I used to get the chewy kind when I was younger so I gotta go chewy here.

Nope.

I would like to start analyzing my game this way, but I almost never do this currently. I just get better by playing and talking strat w/ players.

Yes, always music. Check out my top 20 albums a few posts ago.

No, I can grind to any music I like. Interesting question though.

That is tough, if I can choose a concert I will go with Lollapalooza 2008. If I can't choose a festival I will say Rage Against the Machine at Alpine Valley. If anyone has been there it is basically just this huge hill. Well it rained for 3 days straight before this show. The venue basically turned into a huge mudslide and everyone was going nuts. It was so fun, and the band was awesome.

Brunettes.
