Is it more profitable (short-term and long term) for a person to play ABC poker at a higher level (600nl or so)--where he primarily bumhunts and dodges good regs--or to play creative, relatively LAG, and run over the bumhunting regs at a lower level (200nl or so)?

what do you think seperates the midstakes 400-1k regs from the 25-50 regs?
(copied from my earlier answer)

The regs. They are much better at putting you in ridiculous sick spots, much better at balancing ranges/frequencies, playing much fewer tables so they are paying much closer attention taking all of the edges possible and exploiting you much better. Also, all of the games only really run around a mark so it creates a very interesting dynamic where everyone knows the game has a short lifespan and everyone is trying to isolate the fish at the same time.

I don't have the slightest idea but "the ticket" is definitely the ticket.

If I had to define it I would say something like "the sh*t" but having the ticket = the ticket is much more fun.

I think I pretty much answered this earlier... I definitely would not have achieved any where near the level of success I have without the help of my friends that I met through 2+2 who helped/mentored me along the way. Also, helping and coaching other players has helped me solidify concepts for me as well as I have found out a great deal about my game through the frame of another player.

I would credit a lot of my success in business to my ability to network. I am a firm believer in paying it forward... I have helped friends more times than I can count with resumes, recommendations, getting an interview, etc. I don't expect these favors to get paid back to me, but often they are. Of the 5 internships (and 1 full time job) I have been hired for, I have gotten them all through a friend where the interview is just a formality.

While poker is very different than the business world, it is similar in many ways. I have almost 150 players on my AIM that I can talk strategy with, give/get tips on soft games starting, vent about downswings (hi zep), etc. Since poker is a pretty solitary game and it can be extremely frustrating at times, I think anyone trying to "go it alone" would be a huge disadvantage.

Biggest bar tab you've ever paid?

Does this include bottle service? I paid for an entire VIP front stage table to opening of Oakenfold when I was with some busto friends in Vegas... total came to over 4k for 6 bottles of Goose.

I bought a round of shots for my entire fraternity at my graduation party... 77 shots * $3.50 ea ~ $270

All-time favorite Cleveland Indian?

My grandma actually babysits the Indians' kids so I got to go over to the players' houses and hang with their families a good amount growing up and thus I am biased towards who was the coolest off the diamond.

Kenny Lofton

Honorable mention: Omar Vizquel

Favorite Buckeye?

A.J. Hawk (because he is a beast)

Honorable Mention: Mike Nugent

Backstory: My freshman year ('02, the year that we won the national championship) our offense could not put the ball in the end zone and Nugent was like 40/40 on kicks so I started a business making shirts saying "NUGENT FOR HEISMAN" for like $5 each and sold them for $15 each (hiring a bunch of friends as sales minions) making about $10k which we subsequently blew on a sick Spring Break in South Padre. Got to party with Nuge (and later alot of other players) a good amount when he saw the shirts and wanted to meet us, was alot of fun.

trust me, I know scout. He usually b/c like his entire range there on the turn if I check but if I bet he is just going to call his whole range... I would rather get it in on the turn obv and I thought this was my best opportunity... scout checks back maybe 10% of the time here.

1) I am not sure tbh, we play ALOT of hands together... I don't think the other regs would be super happy if I did either, so maybe I could just get them to pay me more to not coach you
2) 375/hr for 400nl+, 315/hr with purchase of 6 sessions
3) ghey ban

About the right amount... I think you should spend money on whatever makes you happy. I could probably stand to take 1k and just get some new clothes but other than that buying cool stuff isn't really going to translate to happiness for me. I grew up extremely busto so my mindset is probably dominated by that since in the back of my mind I feel like this making easy money thing could be over anytime and I don't want to become to accustomed to having a free wheeling lifestyle and have to go back.

Do you have a big discipline?

Thats what she said. (yes ladies, it is true)

Seriously though, yes I am.

Do you think that for being succesfull at anithing you need a big disicpline or there are some exeptions without luckboxing?

Yes, I think that discipline is one of the biggest things that separates the long term winners from the people who have a good run and disappear. The edges in this game (esp in FR) are so small that if you aren't disciplined enough to only play when you are playing your A game, you probably aren't making very much.

At what time do you go to sleep normally?

Varies... games have been very good late at night at high stakes lately so been going to bed pretty late. I would say between 2 and 4a though.

Do you study a lot your game?

Yeah, I have gotten alot lazier, but I used to spend at least 1 hour studying/working on my game for every hour I spent playing.

What filter of HM or PT3 you find very usefull that can tell you you are burning a lot of money?
I'm a PT3 noob... my HUD is tricked out pretty well but other than that I don't really use it that much.

Probably video games to be honest but losing in anything is pretty tilting for me. I am extremely extremely competitive, losing definitely brings out the worst in me. I have to try very hard to not berate people all the time iDawg style. I think overall my competitiveness and desire to be the best in everything has definitely helps me as long as I harness that energy effectively into working harder.

I got pretty tilted this summer when I would lose in FIFA but luckily GM's defense has more holes than swiss cheese so my spirits have been high.

SG: fantasticcow

He is a bit turnover prone on the court and he won't blow the coaches away with his hustle, but DELIVER the ball into his hands when the team is stuck a few points and he comes to play!

SF: GoMukYaSelf

I don't know how he got on the team, he must have paid some busto...

PF: UCIPitcher

A crafty veteran, while consulting his spreadsheet during the time-out break he discovers that after the opposing player dribbles twice at right elbow, he goes to his left with a frequency of 78% and is there to make the steal.

C: sethsethseth

A bit shaky on the defensive end, but he really knows how to JAM IT IN!

See earlier answer... the current poker economy is not sustainable without a steady supply of fish. Regulation would be absolutely huge as it would open up a whole new market of recreational players who previously were unable/thought they were unable to play online. There is a whole untapped market of degens out there!
