Blinds $1-$2, but game is $2-$100 spread-limit (most you can raise is $100 over previous bet). Game is typical weekday morning game: lots of limping.

Villain in this is a Libra who has lost about $500 in the last 30 minutes and only has $44 left. Hero (a Cancer, though giving off Leo vibes this week with Mercury in retrograde) has $500 and covers everyone.

THE HAND: 4 guys limp in (with stacks ranging from $150 to $300). Villain in the Small Blind goes all-in for $44.

Hero looks down at AsTc in the Big Blind and….?

Just fold. There is too much possible action after and ATo isn't strong enough. Even if villain has air he has a reasonable chance against ATo and if anybody else gets involved your probably in a bad situation.
This is one of those annoying situations where it's -ev to play even though you will have the best hand a fair portion of the time. The problem is that in general you will have the best hand when nobody else gets involved and you win $44 a lot. When somebody else gets involved your risking more and are facing a reasonable or better hand. So you are more likely to lose when the pot is bigger.

I guess I got lucky here: I called the shove, and very fortunately the limpers all folded.

SB tabled 75o and I held.
