meh, i'd change. i usually mention something about luck, or cold cards if it's a thinking player and someone says something.

it is funny watching someone who was on your right, move to your left and lose more as you go on a heater. thanking them for their cards would tilt them even more.

this one guy did make me mad the other night when he was on my direct right, then moved to my direct left. i was on a heater and had taken down 5 pots in a row. he got 35dd and folded pf. i would've called and flopped a straight flush and stacked a guy with 900 in front of him....as he overplayed/ shoved his stack on the turn. this is all because he thought i was a uber lagtard. if he played the hand i wouldn't have cared...i actually would've love to see him double through the other guy. he didn't even call pf though, so it was a waste! he lost about 100-180 on blind raises and straddles so he could always have position on me. lolz

Lucky seat is a valid reason.

LOL after reading this thread, I'm really tempted to change seats and when asked reply "It's because you're a fish and I want to maximize my exploitation of your poor play by gaining a positional advantage on you"

Probably not +EV unless you tilt villain by saying this but it would be absurdly hilarious.

I usually ask the dealer for the 1st seat change button pretty much as soon as I sit down at a table. I see nothing wrong with changing seats. If you're gambling you're money then why shouldn't you be able to choose a new seat, should one become available. If anyone doesn't like it, they have the choice to stand up and leave, or choose a new seat themselves. "All's fair in love and poker".

In Amsterdam it is not frowned upon and therefor not unethical. BTW, a fish would not even get the concept why you change your position so you can easy get away with an excuse as lucky chair, more space without looking like a shark.

I would tend to move to gain positional advantage over a good player rather than a fish. And no, I don't think there's anything unethical about getting a seat change.

i have more integrity than most players, and i think it's fine, just don't be too blatant about it or you'll make the fish upset and that's -ev
