Two weird hands vs. big pairs Two weird hands vs. big pairs

1/2 tonight at the casino. I lost two significant hands vs big pairs. Both villians are unknowns. Villian in first hand I had no reads or history as I just sat down. Second villian was opening a lot of pots in position but stacked off in a big pot where I raised with AA, SB check raised and he shoved for not much more with top pair and a flush draw (Ks9) and I of course folded.

Hand 1) I have have folded every hand for the first hour or so and this hand comes up. V raises to $11 in EP. Folds to hero in SB w KhQh. Flop = Jxx rainbow. Check, check. Turn = off suit 9. Check. V bets $10. Hero raises to $30. V calls. River = A. V bets $50 and hero calls with KK.

I thought I was repping AJ or 99 pretty well here. His flop check totally through me. When he called the turn I really didn't know what he had, but I considered the A a better card for me than for him. Still, I guess it was a pretty silly bluff.

Hand 2) MP1 villian open limps. MP2 limps. Hero raises in CO with KK.
MP to $15. MP1 raises to $36. This puts me in a weird spot. I am obviously never folding. There have been plenty of times where this is not just AA. Some players do this with pocket pair or even AK to take the betting lead. Now, THIS player might only do this with AA, but I don't know how he plays. Either way, I figured it was going in one way or another and I shoved. He snap called w AA. I think I started this hand with around $150 and V had me covered slightly.

2nd hand is KK vs AA, super standard.

I don't like the checkraise bluff in hand one - who knows if this unknown is even paying attention to what you're repping? Wait until you know a bluff has a chance of working.

Hand 1 fold pre. Don't bluff unknown.

Hand 2. Not sure why you posted this "cooler" but you seem to have the opinion that you should never fold KK pre which in itself is a leak even when short.
