2/5 NLHE 7 handed.

Hand 1:

V1 - Maniac whale. Opening 25-50$ cold with A-rag. VPIPing close to 100%. Has shown up at the river with everything from 77 to K2o. Check calls with any pair post, leads and plays for stacks with what he considers big hands (TP2K+). Covers HJ.

H - 750$ BTN.

---

UTG straddles 10, one limp EP, V1 to 40 in HJ, Hero raises Q Q to 125, only V calls. HU IP.

Flop 260 - Q 8 7

V1 x, H bets 90, V1 calls.

Turn 340 - 4

x, x (?)

River 340 - A

V1 bets 250, Hero? Is the check back on the turn okay? Should I just keep going for value?

--------------------

Hand 2:

V2 - Competent TAG. Gets out of line sometimes but plays quite tight pre. Can get creative. Rarely see him showdown because people don't give him much action. HJ. 1850$.

H - Not sure what V2 thinks of me. CO. Covers.

---

V1 (LJ) whale opens 40 over one 5$ limp in EP, V2 3-bets to 110, H cold 4-bets A A to 250, only V2 calls. HU IP.

Flop 550 - Q 8 5

V2 checks, Hero bets 200, V2 calls

Turn 950 (1400 back) - 4

V2 checks, Hero?

I would keep betting turn with top set. Not sure what to do on river. I think I call.

Hand 2 I’m definitely checking back at this stack depth.

Hand 1: Given villain description I'm betting more on flop and not slowing down without some strong read. You have a big hand and a villain willing to put a lot in with one pair, don't miss the opportunity. As played just call river, villain probably won't call a raise without a straight or flush. Check turn against a better player.

Hand 2: Preflop raise isn't big enough. Your representing AA/KK but set the price low enough it's hard for villain to fold. Make it $300/$350 and occasionally more.
Check turn. Stacks are deep enough that going broke with one pair would be bad. You should check the turn back a lot even if turn was a brick. The actual turn is bad, completing some draws and making the board very wet. It will be hard to make any more money off a villain.

Betting 1/4 PSB on the flop vs. the whale in H1 is absolutely criminal, especially when you say he’ll call with any piece.

Result:
Spoiler:
Hand 1 I snap call after checking turn and he has A7o for a rivered two pair. Says he wasn't calling a larger bet on the flop.

Hand 2 I barrel 450 into 950 and he tank folds.
