1/2 table w/ bad players. I've been there for about an hour and doubled up w/ AA. To the hand

Hero: $410
Villain: $180
Villain 2: $550

UTG+1: Hero As9s raise to 8
Villain: Call
Villain 2: Call

Flop ($27): 8xJxQx

Hero: Bet $15
Villain: Call
Villain 2: Call

Turn ($72): 10x

>>>Checks around

River ($72): Jx

Hero: Bets $50
Villain: Folds
Villain 2: Raises to $100

Hero? I mean i'm priced in. I checked turn for pot control and to narrow everyones ranges. The $50 raise looks very value weighted and was confused whether he was just raising Jx or slowplayed the turn to get value on any river. I think i played this hand badly either way.

I would have c/f flop, QJ8 connects with a lot of hands that would call a raise pre.

I think this is pretty 50/50, so I'd go on reads. If you're raised by a 60 year old lady i'd probably fold instead of call.

It's pretty hard to raise Jx here, otherwise your best bet is to chop.

Def c/f fold. 8QJ is definitely in the range of the type of hand that players like to just call with. Especially in a MW pot its hard to imagine you're good here. Probably folding depending on what type of player min-raised you.

c/f the flop. You raised this hand for deception and to hit a flush. You apparently have no flush draw and this board is going to hit a lot of calling hands right in the nose.

c/c the river imo

50 to win 172 = 1:~3.5; agree this feels like Keys to Valuetown, but that's the bed you made by not checking a 4-liner to a straight when the board paired on the end. Would need reads, but I'm calling more often than not.

Call based on the odds, expect to lose pot often and chop virtually every other time. You will rarely if ever drag the whole thing.

Flop is a bad spot to c-bet. QJ8 board multiway will never result in fold/fold from your two opponents.

You say call based on the odds, then go on to say you rarely get the whole pot. That's the whole point of calling with odds. Winning the pot enough times to justify the call.

(FTR, I do call here also.)

Really easy call. No one here has seen a 1/2 donk bet 2 pair or trips on a straight/flushed board? Really?

I agree. Are the villains that bad that they dont recognize possible draws just to call the flop and check the turn with 2prs/set?

I'm surprised so many advocate not c-betting this flop. I think we have good FE against small pairs (with 3 overcards being on board) and there's still a lotta hands (such as smallish suited/connectors) that this flop misses. If we were up against 3+ opponents, sure, but 2, meh, I don't mind the c-bet...

bet the turn.
as played, you're priced in at over 3:1 on the river. call, but i think you're beat a fair amount of the time

How much is a fair amount? Do we win 1 in 4, 1 in 5?
