1/2. Stack sizes range from 100 to 300. Hero covers. High-hand Tuesday promotion.

Button and other Vs are remarkably similar: loose passives, playing more than half their hands, open limping, calling limps, but also limp-calling raises. Some are open-limping AA, AQs, etc. They are sticky on later streets. Most are calling the hero's semi-bluffs.

Hero is TAG and the only one on the table consistently raising when he enters the pot.

OTTH

Hero opens to 10 UTG with ThTd. MP, HJ, and Button call. Blinds fold. 4-way.

Flop (39 after rake): JcJh8s

Hero checks. Vs all check.

Turn is 8c.

Hero checks. MP and HJ check. Button bets 25. Hero?

Standard call. Try to get to showdown as cheaply as possible.

If he has a jack, he'll likely bet big on river and we can fold. An 8 and air is likely going to bet small enough for us to call.

Agree mostly with the other poster. Vs most players its a call and evaluate. But vs probably 1/3 or more of these players im folding to the bet. Pay attention to who likes to stab multiway and who likes to value bet multiway. Its really that easy

The action has a big say here. Normally calling a bet 4-way with an underpair on a paired board would be suicidal. However, the two players in the middle had the chance to get flop (when checked to) and turn and almost certainly have nothing. Although Jx doesn't really need protection you'd still expect the button to bet it on the flop a reasonable proportion of the time. It's unlikely anyone has much unless it's the ultra-nuts. Expecting the two in the middle to fold, you can call here and proceed cautiously to the river

jus let it go, calling now and folding to a bet otr from a weak passive player would be horrible (as would calling and getting raised by one of the other V's). If this was the river I would be more inclined to calll and there's still 4 players in the hand.
