Hi all,

2/5. Tight winning reg opens EP, hero calls MP TdTc, winning BTN reg calls. $300 eff.

Flop ($60): 7-8-9dd. Pfr checks to me and I bet $25, BTN calls. HU.

Turn ($110): 3h. I x/c $60.

River ($230): 2h. I x, V $200. Hero?

Thanks,
DT

I'd look him up. He's betting like he has a nutted hand, but nutted hands should raise the flop often and we block nut straights. Plus all draws missed.

We block the nuts and every possible draw missed. In cases where every single draw missed and I've made it to the river, I call pretty liberally.

Folding here seems really bad given I would expect BTN to raise 2p, sets, and straights on the flop, given the board texture. In addition we checked on the turn, which I would've fired for $80, but our check could have signaled weakness.

Do something different on the flop or turn.

Is this a 300 max game? Your stacks are always super short.

I just like buying in for the min especially when on a break even stretch / downswing. Also we block his straight draws and some flush draws so isn’t this a pretty poor bluff catching candidate?

I could see him just calling flop with 2p/sets since I block the nuts and he could be mubsy.

Bluff catching shouldn’t even be crossing your mind. When you get this flop with a $300 stack you should be thinking “how can I get all my chips in the middle?” The fact that you got to the river only getting $105 in is absurd.

I agree, with 60BB I would bet this flop bigger and definitely continue betting.

I don't know, I often get the feeling you don't really know how to manage a shorter stack. I would guess you'd be much better off just fullstacking 1/3.

60bb deep you really should try and get it in ASAP in raised pots when you have TPGK+.

Pot flop -> shove turn or 2/3 flop -> x/jam turn if you have a read that villain will stab. The actual line taken is the absolute nut worst possible.

fold the river, big river bets are usually the goods.

Flop sizing is atrocious. Kind of weird spot on the river, i lean fold but heros line may induce a lot of bluffs so i can understand why some posters think we have to call now.

x/jam turn looks good. As played calling river. Can't imagine a set/2p is flatting your small flop lead w/60bb effective.
