Guys-

How many hands do you think you need on a random player to really be able to trust their stats. in the HUD? 100? 500? 1000? How quickly do the stats start to resemble their true style? For example, how many hands before a really bad run of cards or a really big heater reverts to the mean for VPIP, PFR, 3-bet% and AF?

Thanks,

Shorn

i mean u can get a snapshot of a player in 20 hands u just dont necessarily put a lot of stock into it until you get a larger sample. however, when you are mass tabling and not really paying a ton of attention you gotta use all of the information available. stereotyping helps: random stack size, overly friendly/belligerent in chat, typical "donk" screenname/avatar, etc. if you had a continuum which went from "hand dependent" <------------> "player dependent" you would generally move from left to right as the session goes on.

obv if a guy is playing 80/0 over 20 hands u can make a much better generalization than if you see someone playing 33/25 or 4/2 since the latter is likely more a function of the cards they are getting than their playing style

LOL, It's like TYJohnRambo - random stack size, active in chat, "donk" SN and Avatar.
