My first 2-5 NL Holdem table broke so I was transferred to a new table. No reads. 6-10
Hands I get my first real hand.

I'm in middle position and got dealt KcKh. Utg and utg+1 limp. I raise to 25 sitting at 665. My immediate left flats. He's sitting around 350. Folds to the button and she flats sitting at 500. SB flats at 1100 and the rest fold out.

Flop: 7d 8d Qc

SB checks and I lead out for 65. Guy to my left flats. Button folds. SB re raises to 200. I tank and ended up flatting. My immediate left reraises all in for 265. SB asks dealer if he can re reraise the all in since I had chips behind. Obviously he can't cause it wasn't half of initial raise based on this casino rules. So SB calls and I call. River is completely brick and SB shoves all in. He has me covered at 375. I enter the tank again for two minutes and find a call. River brings anther complete brick. SB flips over 6d 9d. Guy on my immediate left flips over 10d 10s.

Rethinking the hand the next day later. I've decided my best move was to Reshove on the flop when SB made it 200. By flatting I gave up control and got stuck into a nasty situation.

Any opinions on the hand or things you woulda done instead?!?

I don't play any live poker but I think I fold to the CR. The best-case is the one you ran in to - one guy has a one-pair hand and the other has a draw.

But often you're gonna be up against a better made hand and a draw, in which case you're in bad shape because the Kd isn't an out.

If I have the Kd in my hand I'm even less likely to get it in because you block some draws and are more likely up against a better made hand.

But having the Kd being tainted, I'm not sure which is worse.

Maybe you're up against a draw and a QJ type hand often enough to justify getting it in, but SB doesn't CR that hand so you need the btn to have it. And since the button just flatcalled your cbet, his range is near uncapped on this board. So is sb's range. I think I find a fold.

If you have reads, that can change everything.

Flop bet is too small on that board. I'm betting ~$90.

5x pre seems light for KK, especially with limpers. You want to raise more to get HU or 3-way at most.

On the flop, which is very "wet" with straight and flush possibilities, you bet into 4 people $65 into a pot of $115, which is a rather weak c-bet. Anyone with any kind of draw is going to feel priced in, and once one person calls, others will definitely be priced in.

I think you made your mistakes pre and on the flop by not betting enough to get proper value or thin the field.

If you did this intentionally to trap, as the title implies, that is a mistake too imo, for multiple reasons: the two already mentioned, plus we don't have specific reads that opponents are overly aggressive, nor are we anywhere near nutted. Strategically, traps like this aren't great. I know that if I peg someone as "tricky/trappy", I'll be more wary of him in future pots and will be more apt check or call him rather than raise, thereby denying him full value, and if others do the same, profitability goes down, not to mention the possibility someone can accept the favorable odds offered and proceed to draw out on you. TL/DR: Bet your freaking hand.

As played, without reads I'm probably folding to the re-raise, as it smells of commitment, and I'd hate to stack off with just an over-pair.

pre i am raising to $30 - $45
As played:
If you think villan is raising with a flush or straight draw?
Combo straight flush draw?
I like that you didnt fold. The only thing that beats us is sets. On a wet board like this some villans might think their AQ, KQ, QJ type hands are the nuts. Still close.
