Another "last call on Friday night" $1-$2 hand.
Hero ($285) has been folding like it's his job for the past two and a half hours. Saw some draws at the right price that didn't pan out, and has been topping off.
Villain ($285) is a 40-something black man that came from a broken table about thirty minutes ago with a little over $400 in chips (max buy-in is $300). He's definitely loose pre-flop, and on one had he made a pretty sizable bet/fold on the river.
We're 7-handed at this point. About 70% of the post are raised pre-flop, and a fair amount of straddling is going on. This does not discourage people from open-limping, and we haven't seen any limp / re-raising.
Preflop:
2 limps
Hero makes it $15 on the button with Q
J
Villain calls in the SB
BB folds
Both limpers call
$15 has been my standard raise to limpers, and normally gets one or two calls. I think calling is fine some of the time in this spot as well, but the last four orbits my button has been unplayable.
Flop: J
8
4
(Pot: $57 after rake)
Checks to hero, who bets $40. Villain calls, limpers fold.
Probably could have bet a little less on a flop this dry with the same results.
Turn: J
8
4
9
(Pot: $137)
Villain bets $75
Hero???
I have $230 left before my action.
I'm most interested in your turn decision, but comments on the hand overall are welcome.
