Hello. 1-2 No limit holdem. I open 12 QdJd from MP, SB(whale) and BB(calling station reg) calls. Flop is Qh8d3d. Whale straight away bets 20 in 36. Reg calls quickly. Effective stacks are 550. Whale plays over 80% hands here, and 3bet's only nutted hands(~3%). Reg is also very wide on BB with whale in the pot, and also very passive preflop(I'd say that he'll squeeze only AQs+, AKo+ JJ+).I've seen whale to lead both with any draws(inc. gutstot) and with marginal holdings, any tp, sometimes MP, and continuing bluff 3streets, but slowing down sd value on a scary cards.We still dominate half of the flush draws, so we are not afraid of diamond. How do you like to proceed here? Raise and hope that whale won't fold his top pair, or flush draw and build a big pot with hand that crushes both of their ranges? Or call, and call down most of the runouts(or ship if we have flush of trips), and be prepared to fold in some 3way scenarios?

You should raise here, most of the times hero will be very ahead of their potential ranges, we dominate most of the Q cause we take off most of AQ combs from their range. We dominating gutshots and some fd.

I would make it to 60$

I would just call, based on how you describe the players why potentially get them to fold out worse hands on this board. I'd try to get at least one more street out of both of them before raising in position. There's not much to be afraid of here and you have potential to make a better hand. If calling there's about 100 in the pot, if it's a good card on the turn, you can raise assuming one of them will lead out or even over bet pot. I still think you can get stacks in by the river with 550 effective.

Why you like raise better?

I like a raise because if he has something to continue with, he'll do it. He slows down on scary cards, so what's he going to do on a Q or diamond (unless he has you beat)? Plus, someone else is in the hand who could also beat you with a few cards.

I'm just not a fan of slow-playing top-pair, OK kicker with a draw, and I'm OK taking it down now or having them pay to come along.

Possibly but you have a lot of equity if the front door flush comes in. You have top pair with a lot of outs in position. You can raise turn and of you get a caller and miss on the river you still have good showdown value and more than likely can check river.

Pretty standard raise for value, and with a hand not quite strong enough to trap vs 2 players
