Grunch: don't. If you do, use an optimum short stack strategy, which is play only top 5% of hands, play each one to be AI on the flop, ride the variance train.

But I don't see any leeway when everyone else EXCEPT YOU has only $100? I mean you have no room to double barrel or anything vs these villains, and you're forced to really play for $100 effective only.

Aren't you contradicting yourself? How is 66+, AJ+, KQ a "very nitty" range? I'd consider a very nitty range as TT+, AQ+ only.

What does this mean? We are the only "big stack" here. I'm saying everyone else is 20 BBs and we are 100 BBs.

Underrated post.

Also: Buying in short DOES NOT LIMIT DAMAGE. You're reasoning for SS (which is a debatably acceptable strategy) is way off and tells me you've got way bigger leaks than how to BI for.

And unless you have discipline to only BI ONCE with a SS (highly unlikely), you're multiple dropped bullets should add up to more or less the same as getting felted with a full stack.

Their stacks aren't fixed.

Find a different game to play.

What do you do when you actually win a couple of pots? Just get up and leave, because you aren't comfortable playing short?

Scenario 1)
Everyone else buys in for 20bb.
You buy in for 20bb.
Someone doubles up.
You get into a hand with them and you double up (for 20bb).

Scenario 2)
Everyone else buys in for 20bb.
You buy in for 40bb.
Someone doubles up.
You get into a hand with them and you double up (for 40bb).

Scenario 3)
Max buy in is 40bb.
Everyone else buys in for 20bb.
You buy in for 20bb.
Someone doubles up.
You get into a hand with them and you double up (for 20bb) and now you're at 40bb.
Someone else buys in for 40bb and doubles up now they have 80bb.
You get into a hand with them and you double through you get 40bb from them. But if you had bought in 40bb you''d be at 60bb, and you'd have another 20bb in your stack.
