I'm familiar with the timing tell online where a player snap calls on a flop like
Kh 7s 8s indicating their likely holdings are weak kings (K9,K10) or draws.

I played a hand last night where I blew some guy off K7824 board on the river with air based off his snap calls to my 2barrel.

Granted I had shown down hands and had a TAGish image, which helped my credibility.

Is this generally a pretty common tell in live 1/2?

He showed the table K10 when he folded.

Lol... Doesn't really sound like you bluffed him because of how fast he acted, more of him thinking, "this tight guy just fired 3 barrels into me and I have TPWK and folded.

Not really,

There are two problems you are going to face in LLSNL
#1 yes there are tells but tells can mean different things for different players so you have to correlate each tell to each player
#2 a tell may tell you if a player is strong or weak but in the case of a player being weak, that doesn't mean he will fold.

Online players who transition to live play will be absolutely shocked by some of the.calling stations they will encounter. In fact, I'm shocked that player folded his KT to your river shove. Normally that doesn't happen. Normally the fish will sigh and say "i know you got me beat, you got AK I know it....okay nice hand I call" or they just call without even thinking about it. Off the top of ky head, I'd say that easily 50% of the LLSNL population would have never folded KT in that spot.

In any event. Yes there are tons of tells, but a tell isn't necessarily a one size fits all thing and you got to match the tell with the player and then you've still got to figure out what breed of fish you are dealing with...

OP means he wouldn't have fired the third barrel unless he got the instacall (and therefore knew the strength of his opponent's hand) on the 2nd barrel

You need to be careful, obv., but it does have merit. A very weak or strong hand takes a second to consider folding or raising. A draw or something like TPWK has decided to at least seeing the river.

wow.... he folded?

I played recently and a fish opened to 60, I flatted 33, competent kid squeezed to 200, fish flats, I fold.

Flop: J93
fish check/calls 230
Turn: Q
fish check/calls 380
River: 4
fish check/calls the rest (300ish)

kid obv had KK.... fish flashed TT

One word, correlation.

Lazy people want a poker tell for dummies list and try to read everyone off the same list. Sometime you get lucky and the tell is spot on, sometime it's the opposite and you scratch your head wondering why.

I think most tells are incredibly obvious. it's reactions, not actions. I wouldnt read too much into actions. there are other more subtle tells, but I think its pretty bad to base your poker on them.

I think timing tells can be useful, but don't put much stock in them without building a good amount of history.

Certain players I commonly pay with will snap call with draws trying to "buy" a free river card.

Other players snap check when the hit or miss their draws. Just be perceptive and take mental notes.

I have used reverse timing tells vs thinking players-but not sure if they called/folded bc of them.

One hand in particular I snap shoved the river over villains bet to make it look like I had planned a bluff (I had a set, which might as well have been the nuts on that board). He called and said he thought I was bluffing-I can only assume it was based on timing but I dont know for sure.
