Late night session which I rarely play at this time. But somehow found myself going to the card room at 3am weekend night. Table is what you would expect at this time. Loose drunks and player stuck trying to get even. V1 young guy late 20s stuck a few buyins has around $200. V2 young guy very loose just called a two way all in for $200 pre with 82dd and cracked AA and AK flopping a flush. Has over $1200. Hero is on btn with $450.

V1 utg raises to $15. V2 calls, HJ calls, Hero calls with 5d6d.

Flop ($60) 6s 3d 7h

V1 bets $30, V2 calls, HJ calls Hero calls

Turn (180) 8d. V1 bets $30, V2 calls HJ folds Hero calls

River ($270) Jd V1 bets $30 again. V2 calls. Hero? I've hit the backdoor flush. Are you calling or raising this river with V2 still in the hand?

Is this 2/5 ? Raise pre if you want to play it. I would fold with 2 callers

As played you must have the best hand. You could jam or raise 3 - 4x if you think a rip is too face up. Maybe a rip only gets called by better flushes and a smaller raise will get called by worse

I think the whole hand is too passive and it’s why I don’t play this hand class like this. I think it’s a huge leak. & then when you get here with a flush you need to get paid to make up for the other times you flatted SCs pre and x/c x/c folded

PF is kind of meh I'd prefer to play HU vs one player. The value of your flush declines greatly w/ each player added to the pot so you're playing mostly for. the straight value.

So if it's not a spot I can 3bet profitably I'm just going to fold it.

As played I'd probably raise the turn to build a bigger pot for myself when I hit the river. Though I'm sure this spot is probably mixing in theory.

On the river I don't know in what world you wouldn't raise for value vs this bet size and call. I'd make it $165.

How could you not raise the river here? V1 just bet 11% pot and V2 didn't raise. 65dd might as well be the nuts in this spot.

Has to be some argument for raising turn too, but these guys probably aren't great candidates to try and bluff.

Even though preflop is too loose for me (I fold due to RIO), I'm can't completely hate on seeing a ~relatively cheap flop on the Button with a playable hand.

I fold the flop. We have low IO versus high RIO on everything we bink, even in position and closing the action.

I'm fine with the turn due to insane odds / closing the action / doubtful anyone else has a dominating flush draw at this point. ETA: Even though some weakness is being shown here, I'm not convinced I have much FE here against the short guy (who doesn't have much behind) so I'm fine with calling versus raising.

River raise to this lol sizing and with our hand is obvious. I think short guy only has like $100 left so I'd go after that. If deeper guy somehow wakes up and jams then we can consider folding.

you have a nut and set blocker and are facing most likely capped ranges. against most people and situations the most profitable play here has to be to rep a set or the nuts and raise the flop big or just jam. id keep that in your knowledge bank as its counterintuitive to turn pairs into bluffs.

given that people are tilted and probably not folding though, calling flop/turn is fine, and id raise the river smallish.

For sure raise. $150 minimum, and I don't hate $200-jamming.

Also, what stakes is this game?

It's unlikely others are on a flush draw given that it came runner runner. I'd raise.

This is a 1/3 game.
Spoiler:
I played it conservative and just called the river. At the time I was afraid the big stack could put a lot of pressure on me if I didn't cap the betting but after I felt like I left a some equity on the table. My flush took down the pot. V2 didn't show and V1 showed 42o. Said he though he had a straight.

Your hand is good enough to get in, you are almost never getting back-raised by v2 anyways, and based on description it sounds like he might call you anyways.

I'm curious for those saying 3b pre. I tend to have a fairly linear 3b range in low stakes, but will occasionally throw in something like A9o against the right player.

This is a spot I'd tend to flat in position.

For those 3betting pre, do you actually have any calling range here, say 77 or 88?

You can flat with PP's since they're never dominated when flopping a set. But 56s is not a hand you want to play multiway because too often you could be drawing dead and your pair outs suck vs the cold callers range. 3betting is more likely to iso HU and will play well when you hit vs UTG's range which shouldnt include any low cards. Imagine the flop comes 568, there's a lot of **** turn cards vs MP, but vs UTG you're never worried about it.

As played just jam
