Can A-K be played more aggressively than 7-2o, sure. But if you goal is to GII preflop with A-K, you will find you are behind far more than 1/2 the time. And the times you take it down preflop, you are winning the min.
So lose the max far too often, win the minimum much too often, and flipping from behind a bunch is definitely NOT the way to maximize the value of A-K.
