Been a while since I've been on/playing due to some extensive traveling but have recently gotten back into things at the Crown in Melbourne. Came across this spot yesterday and wonder what your standard lines are in this spot.

2/3 Nl

Villian is new to table and unknown with $450 and open limps, 7 limpers total to Hero who covers in BB who checks Jd8s.

Flop ~21 KcJcJs

SB & Hero check, villian leads $15, folded to hero who calls.

Turn ~50 8h

Hero checks, villain bets 30, hero raises to 60, villain calls.

River ~170 5x

Hero tanks for a bit and bets $180.

What's your guys line for flopped trips or similar hands where you know you're ahead, and have an unknown opponent you want to extract from? Line revisions/suggestions?

I'd raise flop because it's so draw heavy. Something like JJ5 rainbow is good for slowplaying, not this flop though. I'd check raise the turn to $120. A min raise gives him the right odds to call w/ most draws.

Looks good to me. Obviously by river only JQ, J10, J9 holdings would call.

I don't know if I would raise flop, as it may fold any Kx hands alot. Trying to think what you could be repping (other than your hand) with turn min-raise, which would still make him call you light on river....maybe a strong combo draw, like 9c10c that missed??

I take this line all the time when I flop monsters out of the blinds, especially when there's a FD out there. People will pay you off so light because they think you are betting on the come instead of trips.

Your goal is to build the pot and the best way to do it is to bet. TP will call. FD will call. OESD will call. But those hands might not necessarily bet due to the presence of the Jacks.

Looks like fastplay FTW. What about if we held a hand like J6 here? Fastplay cautiously I'm assuming.

OOP I just bet/bet/bet, or *perhaps* check/raise the flop and lead turn.

I really hate any play that involves checking the turn (a zillion hands are checking behind here due to fearing someone is slowplaying trips, including draws where we just missed the last chance of getting value from). And once we luck out and villain bets the turn, I hate the minraise as it gives villains almost the immediate odds they need to chase flush/OESD draws.
