1/2 game.

Hero and V2 have similar stacks around $400.
No history with V2 except for the last few hours.
Seems pretty ABC. Slightly better than average, tight but still on passive side sometimes.

In this hand there is a UTG straddle to $4.
UTG +1 calls.

Folds to hero in CO who calls $4 with 8s8h
Button (V2) raises to $16
UTG+1 and hero call

Flop = 767 to spades
Checks to B who bets $33

UTG+1 folds
Hero calls

Turn = Js

check, check

River = 8c
Hero bets 70
B calls 70

Pre flop - I think this is a standard call. I could have raised pre flop but I don't want to get into an inflated pot that usually needs a set to win. But I could have raised to 20 or so and felt ok about it.

OTF - seems standard based on Vs bet size. If he bet bigger like over 40 I would have foled. I think he bet just enough to let me peal. I have back door flush and straight equity as well although i would much rather have this hand IP. I think V has over pair many times here that beats us but once in a while shows up with AK, AQ or like the AK spades.

OTT - I am checking and prepared to fold if he bets. When V checks I can rule out a flush or JJ. I think he plays pretty careful/passive and could still have an overpair, but many villians would still fire if they had QQ+ with a spade, so I am thinking he does not have a spade.

OTR - I think I have to bet because I am not sure if he will, and he might not call a check raise or bet bigger than 70. I want to control the pot at this point and make sure some money goes in. I know its a lucky card obv. But I was done with the hand and prepared for a cheapish showdown until this card. I think he would have called more like 100 looking back now.

Please evaluate thought process during every step of this hand if possible. The result obv was great but not that relevant. I am mostly concerned with pre flop and flop decisions. After that it kinda played itself.

Preflop is fine, I don't like raise/folding medium pairs pre, but we are in LP with dead money there already so I think raising here is more than fine ($20).

Flop I don't see many passives cbetting air on paired boards against 2 V's. This is more likely to come from a solid TAG or LAG so I think c/f is fine being OOP since we are basically set mining the way we played this Preflop. V is probably not betting worse here.

Turn I still check obv. When he cbeh turn, this V is turnin hand face up 99/TT/QQ and as per your read is being very passive and essentially putting you on a 7. He is somewhat decent you say and would def look to get more value on turn when you call flop.

River we need to bet. Good chance he likely will cbeh river after turn and Ch/r is going to turn our hand face up. I'd rather make the bet sizing myself (hence leading river) rather than giving V a chance to b/f small.

I prefer raising pre and taking the betting lead, this will happen far more often than getting 3bet. We don't worry about that until it happens.

I think peeling flop is fine, the paired board increases the chances we'll get to see a free river.

River is good

Raise preflop, 20 seems fine.
assuming one caller I wiuld cbet flop small, like 20 bucks abd hope smalker pair/Ax will peel one. If I get two callers im checking flop back .
As played I would throw out a slight over bet as I think its a spot where calling ranges of a live fish will be relatively inelastic. They wont fold trips/AJ/QQ+ for $100 and prob fold anything worse than Jx to a $70 bet.
id make it $90 on the river ($100 is a psychological inflection point we prolly do gest to get jydt under that).
