I think you should have check-raised on the flop. We should expect one of the four remaining players, including the preflop raiser, to bet. Hero can then check-raise and hopefully take the pot. If I get a caller, I'm bombing any turn. Hero is lucky two or more players didn't call and then a scare card hit on the turn. It's very rare to get 4 folds and headsup on a heavily textured board.
I don't understand why you want to c/r flop. We have a set; we don't want folds. And it's a disaster if it's checked through.
OP, I think you should bet bigger on the turn, and yeah, snap call the shove.
