Note: Blinds are $1-$2, but the game is $2-$100 spread-limit, where the maximum you can bet or raise on any street is $100 over the previous bet.

Mid-afternoon on a Monday. I just sat down and have a stack of $400. Villain was involved in this hand just a moment ago:

I call an UTG raise with TT in the BB. 4 ways. Flop 843ss. I check, UTG bets 15, two calls, I x-raise to 65, UTG folds, first caller folds, second caller calls. Turn 3. I bet 75, he raises max, I call, he has A5 no spade. River Qs, MHIG.

Villain was the UTG player and told me at showdown he folded JJ. He seems competent.

This hand: The CO open limps, I raise with JsJd on the Button to $10, Villain calls in BB, limper calls.

Flop: QcJc9h (pot: $30, 3-ways)

Both players check, I bet $25, Villain calls in BB, CO folds.

Turn: QcJc9h 2c (pot: $80, heads-up)

Villain checks. He has $255 behind and I cover. Should I bet and, if so, how much?

I think I bet 40 targeting 2p and tens, perhaps even KQ, and fold to a jam - turn jams are nearly always hecka strong at 1/2 and we won't have the odds to boat up.

If a ten or a club hits the river and he leads, I insta fold. If he leads regardless, I'm going to have to do some serious soul reading.

If he checks again on a river brick, I'm probably just jamming taregtting 2p, and hope he didn't slow play a flush.

Note in this game, if we bet $40, the most he can raise to is $140.

I bet $55 and he instantly check-raised to $155. I call.

Before the dealer even puts out the River, the Villain bets his last $100 dark, which I guess answers my question of whether I had implied odds if I caught a board pair on the River. Alas:

River: QcJc9h 2c 3s (pot: $490)

I decide that I’m seeing a bluff way less than 20% of the time in this spot (I actually think that at these stakes this is a bluff approximately 0% of the time) and make the tight fold. Villain doesn’t show.
