Really thinking we're going to eradicate this thing here in South Australia. A few days ago the government put out a call for anyone with anything that looked remotely like COVID symptoms to come get a test. The last two days, 4,000 tests have been conducted, where we were averaging 4-500 a day before. The results? Zero positive tests.

There are only 81 active cases left and of locally acquired cases which could not be traced to contact with a known case, we've only ever had 4 of them and none for quite some time. Starting to get hard to imagine how it could still be out there and not detected.

Eradication is not sustainable in the long term, but it'll be a nice position to be in.

Maybe. I think on the eastern seaboard it'll be a little tougher than that to get the beast back in its box, maybe like September. I think SA, or maybe just Adelaide, is definitely going to be an early opening up "experiment". Maybe NT and/or WA as well.
