Villains stats are 15/10 after 150 hands. My stats are usually like 14/12/5. I had not been too active at this table. No previous history with this player. His weird line confused me. Ez shove or just call?

Why no 3-bet pre?

I like c/shoving the river since you only lose to JJ/88 and will get called by worse (any jack, QQ+).

I figured that his range is pretty tight from ep and a 3-bet would look too strong because I had not 3-bet him before. I thought I would get more value from TT,JJ,AQ,(AK?) by just calling pre and trying to get some money in postflop. 3-betting here should of course be standard.

During the hand I got confused because I could not figure out hands that would check the flop and raise that turn. Would he do it with a jack, QQ or KK? Moreover, I could not be sure if he is the type to slowplay flopped sets like this.

I took the weak-tight line and assumed his range includes only boats & weird bluffs and just called.

Thanks for the answers.

His line looks a lot like JJ/88. I just don't see him checking that flop with any lone jack or QQ. And then the turn raise, it looks fishy. I'd just call.

that was exactly my thought. You should probably explain why you played 3 streets poorly when you post the hand though so we can be on the same wavelength.

LOL someone did this to me with AA yesterday - flatted in the bb w AA with like 4 callers of an EP raise to 3. I had 33 on a AK3 flop. Ridic. Couldn't put him on a set.

Top set mining, IMO, looking to tarp because donks always pay off with bottom set like it's the nuts. You got owned.

welcome to the forum.

As said you have to shove, but really the board helped you an awful lot? i really cannot see anything that scares you here, unlikely event that he opens 45 34 from UTG+2.

You are all correct. He had KK and im a nit. Bad bad play assigning such a narrow range to the guy.
