Ridiculous Up-Swing? (+ Stats Inquiry) Ridiculous Up-Swing? (+ Stats Inquiry)

How many times have you cashed out in the red?

I haven't been sucked out on yet, just wondering how many times it's happened to you guys.

I'm pretty new to poker but I'm playing well. I've logged 9 hours at live casinos on 4 separate occasions. Profit of $638, or ~30BB/hr (since I played some 1-3).

I'm curious to know if this is a respectable pace, if this is just a big upswing and variance will slow that down, post some of your stats please.

EDIT: How long do you guys sit at one table on average? Would you move tables if you got the table to triple you up on two separate occasions?

No, you are not going to keep winning 30BB/hr over the long haul. Partly because that's simply unsustainable for anyone, and partly because 9 hours is nowhere near enough time to give you any sense of what your winrate might be; variance over that short a period dwarfs any information the results might give you.

Come back when you've got 500 hours and go to the Winrates thread

Good luck

This thread reminded the first time that I discovered free HBO preview weekend and how many R rated movies they were showing.

I was averaging 100BB/hour after my first hour of NLH. Sadly, I could not sustain that winrate.

On the plus side, it's always nice to start on a heater. A friend of mine is a Vegas pro. Tonight, he told me that if he hadn't started hot, he never would have made it. He was really bad when he started, but got really lucky. Now, he's a pretty good player pushing a $10 K bankroll.

Consider yourself lucky that you started so hot. Keep working on your game though.

About half that is sustainable at $1/2 by the very top of the player pool. Maybe. Maybe lower.

But ya not a thread by itself and killer brag.

Welcome to the forum.

I strongly suggest reading through the stickies at the top of the forum page. There's a wealth of answers to the many common questions people have. Your question, for example, should go into this thread:

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/17...nances-771192/

In all forums, I suggest that you look at the front page at least to see if there is a question similar to yours. When you posted your question, the winrates thread was on the first page too.

You've already got the answers you need, so I'm locking this thread.
