Folks, my first post in about 2 years, so please bear with me.

1/2 game with a stack of $300+. Table is a mixed bag. Villain is TAG regular that I somewhat personally dislike because of his quiet but abrasive, sarcastic attitude. Villain raised 12 UTG, folded to me at MP2 and I call with 7s. The rest folded, HU. Flop of 4Q7 rainbow, villain bets 30. I raised 70 instantly. Villain stared at the flop for a minute and grabbed 2 stacks of 100s (he got me covered) and pushed it to the middle. I thought for a minute and .......?

PS Villain bluffs rarely and haven't seen him or at least being caught with a bluff re-raise. Can I fold 2 set here?

You have to stack off here.

Maybe if we were 300bb deep we'd have more of a decision.

I have played with this guy regularly who believes in small hand/small pot theory. He knows my raise can beat overpair to the board. Hard to do, but can there be any reason to muck 2nd set here? I have never done it.

presume rainbow flop? is top pair, top kicker and flush draw out of the question?

He's prollly got KK, AA, or Aq. Unless there is some information you haven't shared, you need to get it all in or just quit playing poker.

if you know villain quite a bit, you must instantly give a range for his UTG raise. i would be especially interested by the likelyhood of 44, KQ, 56s and random Q7.

did you raise to 70 or 70 more?

anyways, even if villain is super tight, never 3-bet bluffs and mostly has sets in this spot you have to call. he'll still have 44, AQ, KK, AA enough for it to be clearly profitable.

Pointless threads. If he has QQ then put thus in bbv.

Rainbow flop, no flush draw. My gut feeling is that he won't re-raise even with KK or AA.

I raised to 70. There is only about 40/60 he would re-raise with KK, AA.

Set over set sucks, but is super difficult to get away from. If he has QQ...so be it. Ship it.

LOL, I've been probably playing longer than you! Read: KK,AA,AQ are SHSP hands if you understand that theory.

FYP

I'd never fold this and I think it's a losing proposition to do so.

Move up to where they respect your raises?

This is gonna be a great cooler story one way or another. Folding is bad. Calling is bad. So shipping it is my option. Then rap the table and say, gh sir.

This has to be a troll.

If this guy is folding AQ/KK/AA on this flop, you should be calling his pf raises and raising his cbet on any flop.

you gotta get it in here, everytime.

my question is, if you don't think this guy would put money in the pot w/ AA KK AQ KQ or the chances are against it atleast, why would you raise the flop? You said you dont think he 'd reraise here, well would you expect him to flat. If so then what.

I'm alittle confused by this hand.

OP, if you are that sure of your read, go ahead and fold. Noone here is going to advocate it though, so if you're looking for congrats on your great fold you're outta luck. Only way it is a good fold is with a cast-iron-soul-read, which we obv don't have. If you stacked off and are convinced you shouldn't have, well... we disagree.

This. Life's a bitch and you're about to find out if you're his bitch or he is yours. But certainly don't put on a collar and start barking by folding your hand.
