1/2 $300 max. Hero $400ish MAWG probably seen as aggressive but have had big hands when I've bet big.

V1 $120. Bad rec with a high degree of spazz. Just overbets marginal spots a lot.
V2 $400ish. No real reads. Plays hands face up. Too loose like almost all 1/2 players.

Button straddle $5.
Hero opens $20 UTG AsQs
V2 MP calls
V1 CO calls
Button calls.

Flop $100: 8x7s5x

Flop is terrible, H checks, checks through.

Turn: $100: 8x7s5x Js Hero bets $45. V2 thinks and calls. V1 shoves $100. Button folds.

Pot is $290, I have $380ish left. I jam to get heads up with V1. I am as certain as you can be V2 does not have a set 2P, or a straight. He would have raised. I range him on 1 pair or a draw.

So you’ve risked your entire $380 stack for the purpose of getting heads-up with a player who, if he has any pair at all, is at least a 2 to 1 favorite against you for a $290 side pot?

Yeah, that’s pretty high on the spew rating.

Minor spew, like 3/10.

Mostly you want to keep other player in, but shove has upside of cleaning up outs and we are sometimes ahead of all-in player with a hi (such as if he has a weaker flush draw).

If villain2 folds best hand, he made a great bluff, if he call his shove, it’s a spew

The problem is that even if he successfully bluffs V2 off a better hand, he’s STILL only heads-up as an underdog against V1! He’s essentially *never* ahead of V1, V1 *always* has at least a pair here.

It’s a huge risk with *extremely* little benefit.

It was definately a spazz move on my part. I rate myself more harshly than most here.

Results. Both called. V1 had J3o. V2 had T8s. River brick. v1 wins main. v2 wins side.

Haha. But I get it—just calling on a draw and hoping you hit it (and then check-losing if you miss) *feels* like a donkey move, like you’re playing the way the idiots who love to GAMBOOOOOL play, so you think the smart move is to be AGGRESSIVE and shove all your chips in on the draw.

But sometimes, just calling and hoping is all you can do. This was one of those times!

Apart from everything else (just call because it's not like V2 will raise anyway, or will ever bluff you off if you hit a pair) ... you basically never get here with a hand that wants to value raise.
Like you are supposed to have T9s,JJ,88,77 that decided not to bet the flop but now wants to put it all in? Or AA/KK/QQ that again didn't want to bet $50 on the flop, to charge draws, but now wants to shove $300 in when a possible straight hit?

If you ever have 88/77/55 and checked flop because it's terrible for your UTG range, you should def. take this line but even if you always do that with those hands you still can't do it with even all your NFD hands or they can still lol call any pair.
