I recently heard Bart Hanson from Crush Live Poker talk about how QTs is the weakest suited broadway hand (which resonated with me), but it got me wondering what the full ranking order would be, especially for the multi-way pots many of us face at LLNL.

Here was my initial intuition for suited broadways:

AK > AQ > AJ > KQ > AT > KJ = QJ > JT> KT > QT

I'm sure there will be a lot of "it depends" (on stuff like stack sizes, position, etc.) but general thoughts are appreciated. If we have to pinpoint a scenario, let's say we are 150BB deep, in position, and many flops are seen 3-4 ways.

Thoughts?

in terms of raw equity, Ahigh will always be better than Khigh , which is higher than Qhigh so on
you're ranking them based on your idea of play-ability and how comfortable you are post flop
anyway, higher equity holdings want to play bigger pots and you should be more likely to flat KTs and 3b KQs, not the other way around

I would probably take JTs over KJ and QJ

Multiway JTs is better but heads up QJs/KJs will win us more money.

Also deeper you are - the higher flush draws go up in value and lower ones go down.

That actually surprises me Bart because I think I've seen some videos where you talk about loving to raise QJs IP because you can often win A or K high boards with a c-bet and when the flop comes with more middling cards you can often drive the action with lots of equity. But maybe that was more 3! QJs IP in higher stakes games.

Either way I suppose JTs has a lot of the same qualities.

Taken from my online database, these are the suited broadways ranked by profit:

AK
AQ
AJ
KQ
KJ
AT
JT
KT
QJ
QT

Conclusion - having the Ace matters a lot and JTs punches above it's weight.

Interesting - It would also be great to see the pre-flop equity with those hands against a static group of 3 or 4 hands that would often show up in a LLSNL game

Playing around with Equilab, vs. 4 ranges of increasing broadness (reflecting LLSNL tendency to call too wide and absurdly too wide on the BTN and in BB) these hands are roughly in the same order when ranked by raw equity instead of profitability. They are ahead of the ranges I plugged in. JTs is ranked lower in equity than in profitability rankings, as expected.

Where they all suffer vs. specific hands as contrasted vs. ranges is against pocket pairs and hands that dominate and tend to overcall e.g. ATo crushes QTs.
