Rake Trap Rake Trap

I canÂ’t seem to find this answer anywhere or reasons for it. My local casino has a 1-2 with a 10% rake capped at $10 is this a rake trap and is it beatable? And if so how would you beat it what kind of adjustments would you make or is it just unbeatable so play somewhere else. Also when does something actually become a rake trap and why is it one?

Oh forgot to mention they also take preflop rake if the called amount is $20 and that’s the minimum the pot needs to be to get raked

Probably beatable for soft 1/2 games that play deep but it's garbage. Play tighter. If someone raises to 10 and you 3bet to 30, does the pot get raked?

Play somewhere with lower rake if possible and/or try to play higher stakes.

Rake trap? Yes.

Beatable? Yes.

Able to quickly build a bankroll to play 2/5? No.

As said above, don't splash around.

Play tighter and use bigger bet sizes pre flop.

You can also buy in for 500 max and you can get 25$ and get a bunch of callers is this still profitable? But the preflop rake is there also how tight of a range? And what kind of size?

Higher rake = bigger raises pre = tighter opening / calling range.

If there's a bigger game with a lower proportional rake, move up. You're unlikely to notice a real increase in difficulty going from 1/2 to 1/3 or 2/5, given that rake structure.
