All of it is cancellable but I think I’ll be in Vegas from November 13-December something. just FYI if anyone cares

I want to grind at least 90 hours of 2/5, 10 hours of 5/10+, and B/E on the trip though.

Ironically, the Raps were a longer shot than 10/1 last year even after the Leonard trade. I forget what happened though.

I also correctly picked Bianca Andreescu to win the US Open last year at a longer shot than 30/1.

Ever heard of Leicester City F.C.? They were about 5000/1 to win their league four years ago shortly after your mom stopped changing your diapers. Shortly after sports books basically stopped giving such long shot odds because...ugh... i forget.

4 years ago I was +/- 17 and had already moved out + was supporting myself.

Not sure why people get personal in these streets.

I’ve put you on ignore. (This means I no longer see your posts). yw.

For the record though- Outside of poker and index funds I don’t gamble in any large capacity. At the moment, I practice fairly conservative BRM. I don’t bet sports or play table games, currently.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with doing those things, and there’s money to be made, but I’d rather not develop a habit that has potential to ruin me in the future.

At least in poker, I know I can develop a massive skill edge in any game I play if I work towards that/ can only play in games where that is the case overtime. That being said, the same applies to poker as well.

I appreciate the constructive criticism.

RtP,

One’s edge is always small in poker.

It’s the nature of the game.

Well at least now I have plans for my night.
Right after I finish I’ll start working on becoming a better person. I’ll trust custom Vegas home Rob.
I’ll have to be content with my peasant toilet paper though, not that premium quadruple ply ****.

I thought a longer time frame would be better because it would diminish the effects of variance on how I do by a lot (in comparison to a shorter trip- not long term).

Maybe I’ll do a trip report in my thread. It’ll be fun. Looking forward to it, especially if short handed. Hope things stay open. This is probably contingent on LA poker rooms (Gardens, Bike, Commerce) not being open by then, which they definitely could be. But even then, I’ve wanted to do something like this for a while.

But either way, I think I’m mature enough to spend a few weeks there by myself now.

ok ik ik #coolstorybro

carry on plz

Every year except for this past year I've put a small bet on the Pistons to win the championship and Michigan to win in football and basketball.

For the Pistons I often get odds that are around 55-1 and feel like I should be getting way way more than that.

NBA discussion is definitely the nut low but I agree with r2p that winning championships in the NBA is all about having the star. Hard to believe there are 7 teams with a chance though but I don't watch the NBA so who knows and who cares.

You need to pick a fight with a poster first.

Then you win the grand prize.

I upped my posting volume big time today, so I’ll happily claim responsibility for approx. 10% of how bad they all were.
I also managed to unlock a trophy for first time being put on ignore.
Rob offered me insightful life advice as well so I think things are looking up on a personal level.

It’s not such of a trophy as it is more of a participation certificate given his obsession with making safe spaces / echo chambers for his bad takes on sports and other topics.

I have no dog in the fight, though if I do, I would pick you over Mr. Run-On-Sentence over there.

FWIW, the fact that you can write better than most of your peers, you are doing alright.

Poker is an experience, don't make it a career.
