lol

Kids today, man, kids today. No sense of history.

So you can't beat your biggest rival (and lost 4/5 by double digits including two ass rapes in 2018 and 2019) or win your conference but he's your most successful coach ever? lol okay, chief.

And I am guessing if you win those last 4 bowls you would be puffing them up.

Nope, not at all. I'm consistent in my speech. I also said he's the best coach, not the most successful - I'm noticing people like to make things up about what I say in this thread. I mean when it's all said and done, I'm sure he'll be the most successful.

I have no dog in this fight... Cuz 1) Lol college sports, and B) Lol sports "rivals" (can't you just steal the other team's panties or something?)

But...

How does one objectively measure "best" coach, if not specifically "most successful"?

@Garick I'll think about it. Thank you for the suggestion.

@Lapidator several measures such as recruiting, overall talent of teams, coaches they hire

Thurman Thomas feels bad enough already ok.

Also what/why don't people like Jim Harbaugh?
(I don't care just curious.)

I'm just teasing. We had a big Eagles fan on the board (he still comes by from time to time) who signed up with the name IBelieveInKevinKolb. Then he stopped believing in Kevin Kolb and got his name changed to IBelieveInChipKelly. That didn't work out so hot for the Iggles either, and now he has a new name.

They are expected to fly and cab to living rooms all over the country and by all accounts they hate it. And more recently, they have to text back and forth on the teenagers view of the world. This is one of the reasons college coaching staffs are getting younger.

Have you examined the competition?

the wins:talent metric tends to reward long time 2nd tier programs like Iowa and U Houston. Harbaugh's recruiting classes are pretty high considering his situation.

I still don't get why people hate Jim Harbaugh lol. Cause he's stuck up, wears Khakis and smells his farts?

He just has an unlikeable persona? Like Bryn Kenney?

Also please don't miscontrue this as I like him or something. I know nothing about the guy. Just curious.

He's uptight, overly cocky and just generally unlikeable without the top tier coaching resume to back it up. I know his brother John a bit (I coached his daughter in bball and our kids go to same school) and find him significantly more approachable, grounded, etc.

Maybe Jim is like that IRL too but that is not the persona he puts out there

Ahh ok. Thanks for clarifying. Did you play basketball in college? You seem like you coach at a high level.

No just HS ball and I wasn't very good. Played D1 golf for a bit.

My coaching career is winding down as both daughters are in HS now.

I'll miss it for sure. The connection you make with some of the kids is lasting. Two of the girls I have coached are headed to play D1 Lacrosse next year. It's pretty cool knowing you helped that kid when she was 12 or whatever even if 90% of it is in their genes. That is the reality

It's mostly the usual suspects of the helmet and the record. Ask them to name the UM coach they like... After that we have Harbaugh's quirky personality doesn't quite fit the preconception of what a coach should sound like. Urban Meyer and Nick Saban carry a mental teleprompter at all times they address the public whereas Harbaugh seems to blurt whatever's on his mind.

But he's not half as funny as Mike Leach.

Spent a good bit of time helping a client prepare for sale of the operating business to a long time employee. Neither the client or the employee are very financially savvy but the business has about $200-250k/year in free cash flow before accounting for owner/operator wages.

The business has considerable inventory/stock and has an estimated liquidation value of $750k-ish. It is a bit of a dirty business, very niche but with the right person bringing it into the 2000's (or even 1990's really) there is considerable upside to the buyer.

We put together a very competitive offer and terms that, frankly, if this business could be run passively I might purchase. The numbers are that strong and the overhead is minuscule.

Anyway sent it over to her adviser and he said ok let me present it. She said she thought her sweat equity meant she was getting it for free when the owners retired. Her offer $10k for the business. Her sweat equity=receiving a salary with full health insurance coverage fro the last 20 years.

Just lolololololololololololololol

My client is trying to see if they can move her up and I'm trying to get them to walk away cuz this ain't happening.
