So I'm still in the maiming innocent kittens period of whistle playing, but I've moved on from songs and movie themes to trying to play actual tunes now, and though it's hard as fook, it's a lot more fun. Here's the one I'm working on as my first tune:

Yes, I know squid face isn't a serious rec and played for a living probably longer than I've existed. When did I ever insinuate that?

" I mean you've been a very serious rec for a little while and have put in hundreds of hours studying.”

Maybe you meant this is a different context than I understood it as.
Not a big deal either way.

Also, what do you guys have against the maiming innocent kittens sound. Could be a cool new genre moving forward.

Pretty sure I’m retiring from LLSNL threads. I trust this won’t upset anyone.

Why would you retire from LLSNL threads? You give good advice

Digital Piano sales are soaring through the covid roof. Acoustics are down, and will stay down if immigration from Asia is limited. But in a year there should be great deals on a second hand dp.

Fark.com may be an anachronism but I revived my account last month. I was able to guess my PW from 15 years ago despite being frozen out of my @AOL.

No. Fingering is different, as is sound, though the mechanism is very similar. When they are played poorly, they sound sadly similar too.

Appreciate that. It’s a bunch of reasons. Most spots are actually pretty straightforward and one of the quality posters in there usually already covers most of what I think. Or somebody posts something that is clearly wrong and I want to correct them, but then I start to think that the responsibility is on them to learn some basic theory instead of assuming that they know the answer without any proper work on their own. Usually they’ll just get annoyed that you say they’re off in their thinking anyway, so it becomes a pointless exercise.
I am glad that i’ve used the LLSNL strat threads, but most of the things that I learn now are from other sources or from mathing spots on my own. Shoutout and thanks to Spyu for being a dependable source is solid information. Amanaplan helped me quite a lot as well, but I don’t think he posts much anymore.
I also might be doing something soon where I actually wouldn’t be able to post in strat threads, and I’m also going to be approaching some spots in a way that wouldn’t really be applicable to live 1/2 or 2/5 games, and could actually hurt some people’s game if they applied my advice. I’m experimenting a lot lately with strange plays.

Cliffs: there is a handful of solid posters who will give better information for the games most posters will be playing, and I’m going to be approaching hand analysis from an online perspective for the foreseeable future. Also going to be putting in a ton of lab work and focus 100% on my own game.

Cliffs pt.2: most $ in live is population exploits, where online it seems to be having a solid theory understanding, but then using a game tree strategy that most players haven’t studied, so you put players in spots that they aren’t used to at all which encourages mistakes.

I remember way back when I had primarily only been playing 2/5 and that was pretty much the highest I had played until that point.

Jumped into a 25/50 game they started running at the next table and were looking for a player so I said why not.

To wrap my head around the stakes I had to pretend I was playing lvl 1 of a tournament.

Rob- Am I right in that using a HUD on bros is not allowed and could result in consequences?

BMF and the other micro regs- is it soft enough nowadays to justify playing to perfect fundamentals? Can you make $20/hr etc.? I used to 4 table 20NL on bros occasionally when tilting and when busy with stuff cuz I like multitasking

yeh he made $1163 over 698 hours in 2019. So $1.67/hour.

Still in the top 20% though amirite. Not bad for a decade in the biz

Or he could just be saying that to avoid taxman

degens gonna degen

698 hours live +25 hands/hour = 17,450 hands.
But I know variance isn’t a primary concern for the truly elite.
It only matters for some of us.

since the truly elite thing sounded like sarcasm..

I can guarantee you that it would be impossible for someone like Ike Haxton to B/E over 700 hours even in a tough 1knl live.

Impossible

More importantly that’s what happens when you only play 700 hours right.

I’d also be extremely surprised if he B/E or lost in a single year last decade. Considering in part that he’s still playing $2,000/$4,000/$4,000 live with $1,3000,000 stacks as televised on Triton.

He’s pretty nerdy and seems to be quite aloof. How did he get into those games?
