playing on the app this past week has made me wish i was gay, given how hard and how often I've been ****ed up the ass in a variety of creative ways

Yeah my last 4 aipfs I lost KK vs KQo, AA vs AKs, QQ vs A4o, and AK vs A2o.

All 4 times I was the one calling the all in. Fun fun fun.

Here's a completely unrelated clip that I just ran across:

good point. how would you play the hand differently vs an unknown on the app?

also, I checked all 3 streets. Maybe I can blocker b/f river? Viewed as leads as MP wasn't PFR.

ike is underrated. How about Galfond btw?

Play seems noticeably nittier with more phone pros who take forever to fold their hands.

think it's because of the multi-tabling that all the phone pros are doing. Refreshing at least compared to live though imo

That's exactly why and it pisses me off!

Betting river might be better but everything seemed fine.

I remember Ike playing the biggest NL games on Full Tilt but they were quite small compared to the big games with Ivey/Patrick/Dwan/Gus/Benyamine/Dang Bros/etc

RNG just did my opponent dirty. AIPF AK vs TT

Run 1: King River
Run 2: King River
Run 3: Ten River - Chop, straight on board.

I can't speak to his skill level (he could easily be worse than all those guys) but I find him to be very articulate and cerebral and I like that his high IQ and tens of thousands of hours of thinking about the game have translated to him being a force in the high stakes world for seemingly forever.

I'd imagine his approach/skillset lends itself to more longevity than some other people's in the realm of the pokah.

I know this was directed at 67o, but I don't think is necessarily a good time to graduate for several reasons.

rtp, i understand this sentiment, but my class felt the exact same, as did the classes graduating in 08, it's a common sentiment

i agree with natamus though, for most people the first year after graduation would have been one of your brokest, poorest years in life and much of it would be spent looking for meaningful employment even if economy was good

much better to be done with school and not having to do crazy credit juggling like the people a year younger will need to do and also better to be in a bad economy when you wouldn't be very gainfully employed anyway imo

also congrats you two

I'd love to see what my P&L has been with QQ+ the past 50 times I've had them. The OMC adage of 'win a small pot, lose a big one' has been spot on.

And then all these guys calling 4 bets with K8ss vs my AK and just getting made to order K 8 2 flops or just turning their flush every time i have a set or 2 pair. It's basically been the guys I've got labelled in Green who've been ****ing me.

I've managed to make some obscene river folds too and I don't think I've spewed much...maybe calling 3 bets a little too wide pre and probably calling a few too many flops

still...think I'm only down about 500bb from the last 3k hands. At least that's only about 8 hours or whatever, instead of the 100ish it would be live

Ike is a great player. The reason he and his buddy Justin Bonomo didn't play those big games is because they were NLHE specialists (I would assume still are for the most part). The big games were generally Omaha, or Omaha/NLHE, or Omaha Hi/Lo, or some mixed game format with Omaha in it (maybe some Deuce to Seven in there).

I know he played Dwan in NLHE but on a day to day basis the NL games weren't nearly as big.

personally, i try to avoid spending any time thinking about things like that as it's fully out of my control.

I agree with the sentiment though. Just saying intuitively this is a time where many would rather be expected to make nothing than out in the real world feeling hopeless. Just echoing the feelings of those I know as a whole.

ty. felt the need to get a minor for fun (as if grad. if 3 yrs wasn't enough smh) so sticking it out for the summer. Very weird since I don't plan to ever use it. The logic at the time was that I can't play live out in LA anyways yet.

*facepalm*

yeah for sure. completely agree. He and Bonomo have also seemingly taken the ego out of it which is very admirable as well.

I watched 3 poker documentaries last week:

Ultimate Beat --> Story about the UltimateBet scandal. A lot of info I didn't know about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IT2KzfoEJf0

Nosebleed --> Story of some French Pros who played high stakes online early 2010s post black friday - This was a good movie. I would have rather it just be about them playing vs Gus & Ivey online and less about playing WSOP events but still good. https://youtu.be/Ju_7_595mDE

David vs Goliath --> Story of former HW Boxer David Haye taking up poker. Ehhh, it is what it is. Still, another poker documentary. It's included with Amazon Prime Video.

I see you've learned not to say that would never happen

One story jumped in my head. The man&woman law partners, I think they were married, where unbeknownst to her, he had actually been disbarred in another state many years before and thus was practicing w/o a license. The court held that she was responsible.

Commencement or whatever is the most boring part of your college experience. It's so the Rents can take a picture and pay for yet another unnecessary extravagance; a $150 Harry Potter Costume. Obama spoke at my last school. Those in attendance said they were forced to stay there for 2 hours after it ended while he left the city.
