It doesn't mean that the average 200z reg in 2020 would be one of the best in the world pre-BF, but in relation to a 2/5 live reg in 2020 the difference in skill level is pretty substantial. It doesn't take a lot of hours at the 2/5 table to make this observation.
I think I’ll probably be able to stick at 200z.
But I agree with DC that there are some 2/5 players who are extremely good players. Some places don’t have many games 5/10 and above. There’s still going to be solid players who know what’s up. Probably less solver nerds though, I’ll also admit.

Maybe wouldn’t mean much to you guys as you don’t know my skill level, but if I had to guess I’d assume that I would be average in those games. I’d also be disadvantaged as I don’t use any HUDS. I’m finding 100NL pretty reasonable though. Overall, the pool is either too nitty or too aggressive. But mostly too nitty. There’s probably 10-20% of players that are aggressive and balanced that keep the games interesting.
would be cool!

+1. So mathematically ridiculous that he’s pulling this off.

I’ll keep you guys posted though. Today I’m playing a few tournaments, so maybe later this week.

also, how? That would be cool. I don't mind if it's more difficult at the same stakes as I don't play on ignition in order to make a ton of money. Mostly want to get in a ton of volume via 2-tabling NLz and learning and improving from every hand I play.

also ppl actually folding to your 1.5x pot sized bets otr with their overpairs, after you c/c turn and the draw gets there is refreshing.

same play does not work in Texas. So instead I just c/c turn, lead 1.5x pot OOP when I get there ofc. (ez game)

that was in the past. I'm working on it homie. give it some time

when someone tells you, you can't do something, and you believe with 90%+ certainty you can it's natural to tell them they're wrong and why you believe so.

If you don't tell them why you believe so, you're a troll. Right? (idk)

yeah i view things linearly as FW would say, though. which is a life leak. for sure.

ex: Got GS interview at 18. And others, very close to the start of college which is pretty unheard of for most people. especially at a non ivy league. without haven taken any finance courses ofc. decided that it would be better to pursue later (19 etc.) when I had a better idea of what I wanted to do and some time to think about those things instead. considering a lot of my life was chess pre-college there was an adjustment period there.

By then though was way into poker. but otherwise i was a few years ahead of the curve. Based on what I have been told specifically too my chances were pretty solid at most places I flaired interest too. and definitely by now would have something amazing locked up, maybe even at my preferred location.

that being said, i don't view it as trying to prove something as much as respond to what people are specifically saying to me, in a thread meant for chatting.

sqwid transitioning out of high finance kind of speaks to my point. I'd rather just go headfirst into something else to begin with rather than vice versa. it has nothing to do with whether I'd be able to handle Wall Street or not.

but as with everything, I'm sure there are tons of flaws in my logic. it is what it is . I'm receptive to feedback but don't need everyone constantly trying to make me feel bad. I have feelings too you know. lolz.

*whiny kid gif incoming*

this was all pre COVID-19 too.

RtP you should start playing Streetfighter V or Super Smash bros. It's way more fun and challenging than poker. There's also just as much money in it if you're the best player in the world or even top 50. The community is also better overall imo.

thx for the rec. apart from the time I waste on here defending myself from hypocrites like sqwid I try to avoid experimenting too much with interests.

maybe to take the edge off though.

Seems like the opposite of what one should do when they're young. Actually not just someone who's young, but anyone at all. Isn't that what life's about?

So I figured you had enough free time to just volunteer for your fave program. The beautiful thing about poker - that almost no one takes advantage of is you can totally structure things so you can pursue your passion.

When I was on the US team, I could train, compete, raise a family, and gambool (on line). Wuz bizzy as phuc but had an absolute blast
Yeahhhh, just trying to get as much money as possible doing as little as possible.

I like your advice a lot. When they inevitably announce there will be a season, I'll knock on Harbaugh's door and see how I can volunteer. This is really good. I'll have you to thank if things work out.

LOL - no hypocrite here. Like nat said every other poast u make is either how ossum u could have been or how ossum you are gunna b. I have surrounded myself with highly successful people my entire life. When they are in the midst of becoming amazing at something new they keep it to themselves...they dont go on and on about what they have done and how it relates to what they are doing. they are like the Nike commercial. They just do it.

I don't know the ins and outs but you'd have to establish a connection to a computer outside the US, so use a VPN to connect to PokerStars. I assume you would also need a foreign bank account or foreign address for funding purposes.

I already explained to him why I react that way. Who cares, people like to surround themselves with people who are similar to them.

Ever heard of the law of attraction? as corny as it is, you have to see it to believe it. I’m doing everything I have to do, and will continue to do so, anyways. Which is the important part.

There’s more than one way to become highly successful. Not that you get that.

this is easier to do for people who are receiving guaranteed paychecks with benefits every month, regardless of how +EV they are compared to the average employee.

also, while I may sacrifice happiness while I’m at it I’m determined to not let people like sqwid be right 15 years from now. as much as it bothers me that I even care.

but yeah maybe if I have 7 figures floating around a few recessions from now.

pokerstars software knows if you're running a VPN. you probably need to portal to an existing machine that is running pokerstars that is physically outside USA#1 and control said machine from your machine.
