Oh it's very scummy. The only reason I find it funny is because it happened to Hellmuth.

You have to admit, it's a pretty funny/brutal needle when the J hits the river on the third runout and he jumps up and says, "Oh! He got there!...No? Sorry. I was just joking, Phil. Did you believe me again? Is that bad etiquette, too?"

We learn about Discounted Cash Flows, Net Present Value, Internal Rates of Return, Black Scholes, Fama French, CAPM, etc. etc.

There are a plethora of other things like Excel, Financial Statements, proper usage of Bloomberg and other financial instruments etc.

It makes sense as understanding everything conceptually, but not being able to do anything on the technical side isn’t going to get you on Wall Street. Anyone with reasonable intelligence and drive can do that, assuming they were exposed to the correct sources of info. However, it could help once you’re there- of course.
So you could say, you're a STEM grad?

i've felt ever since they got trendy amongst collectors/afficionados that the price point is pulling far above their weight

never had that on specifically

i do really enjoy their mid range whiskeys though, always snag in duty free when passing through

if there's an aftermarket I'd sell it and buy something domestic or scotch instead

otherwise, have an oriental themed night in honor of our brother spyu in lockdown

I don’t know, you tell me . Stem majors do more work and memorizing, less thinking imo. Not a good or bad thing.

fwiw I personally would’ve enjoyed learning much more about markets, institutions, and investing, rather than solving problems and working in groups and stuff but I can understand that the university wants to make sure students are as employable as possible.

they are people specialize to the point that they are essential in their niche and end up working underneath a humanities or social sciences major, can never figure out how they ended up working for said idiot who couldn't even do their job but are managing them, and spend the rest of their lives well compensated yet always miserable as a result of that emotional conflict

tl:dr they literally have much higher suicide rates but usually have a pool in the back yard

As an actual licensed engineer, I can 100% tell you that being the best engineer does not mean you can manage people.

Anecdotally, the best engineers I’ve worked with are typically terrible at managing people. Usually the attributes that make them great engineers makes managing people virtually impossible.

So, typically, the people who are worse engineers end up managing the people who are better engineers.

stem majors do more memorizing than finance majors, which is what I was referring to.

Specifically, the majors that fall under the “S” in Stem.

JOTS has this 100% right.

My current boss is a great technical guy but the worst POS leader I’ve ever worked for. And now we’re all about to be forced to our homes to work and he is panicking.

He has no idea how to manage people in person let alone remotely.

This is gonna be a gas.

The "T" does a lot memorization too. You'll likely never need to use merge sort in real life but dammit if someone will hire you unless you can write that shyt out on a whiteboard.

Agreed it's hilarious because it was Phil. He was probably thinking "of course this happens to me" the whole time and he's right Tony def did that cuz he's Phil.

Pretty accurate.

Being a techy guy that can manage other tech people and talk to the innumerate folks is good spot to be imo. But tech ICs should not underrate how nice it is to be able to really focus in on specific problems, even if the innumerates frustrate you.

Any posters outside of the U.S. have any experience with Stars or Party poker?
Or any recommendations outside of those two sites?
Really just looking for the best combination of decent software/soft-ish games/no bots @ 50-100NL levels. Does such a thing still even exist?
It’s been over a decade since I played the online streets, but I think I could hang at these levels. Any input is appreciated. I know there’s an online poker thread, but I trust you guys more than random posters.

Just check out the multiple real time assistance and bot threads here... I wouldn't play for real money online unless you're part of the arms race

Stars is very clearly shifting to sportsbetting and casino operations - been introducing more and more luckbox formats like all in spins etc

Out of the online game though and never played in party

it took 30 days for the stock market to go from bull to bear before the Great Depression.

i bet Betty White never thought she'd see it done quicker. it only took 15 days this time.

I have quite a few that I never got to. I'll hopefully start posting them soon. Things have been pretty whack over here lately. I still have to respond back to my KK hands.
