I know quite well where the money comes from (worse players). For me, that answer happens to be "everyone." If you're willing to just fold near-premiums to "better" players without a fight, then losing to them becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
I think you're missing the point of my post.
I think Squiddy's original post was an example to show how good the game still is. My rebuttal is that the example may in fact show the opposite (considering the much worse routes his opponent decided to not take). (Although I'm not intending for the example to be a be-all-end-all indicator of how his game is, and I'm doubting Squiddy is either)
As to how I deal with this exact situation myself, I fold really easy here and don't think any other play is remotely close for 99% of the poker population in this spot. You're obviously in the 1%, so do whatever you want.
