Northern Michigan by the Sleeping Bear dunes is really pretty but Grand Rapids and surrounding areas are basically if Buffalo Wild Wings was a town.

Love love love northern Michigan...Detroit is nice, too, but there is not a more beautiful city than Ann Arbor, MI.

Hadn’t played since January- went yesterday, played about 2.5 hours and was bored out of my mind. Won enough to cover my 3 beers and an extra 120.

Odd how sometimes I’m so excited and locked in and after a long break- I find I usually can’t wait to get out of there win or lose the first time.

Sorry I gotta draw the line here. Granted I haven't been to Michigan in 2 decades, but there's no way this is true.

Agreed - I haven’t been to Detroit in ~12 years and seems unbelievable

It has improved a lot. Downtown is beautiful. There are areas in Detroit you don't want to go, but it has made a comeback, and it's getting better every day.

They're just in a bad mood because they aren't used to being the second best team in anything in the State of Ohio. Kicking Michigan people makes them feel better. And deep down, they know most of the state hates how obnoxious Ohio State is in general. When the Dayton beat Ohio State a few years back during March Madness, the Dayton Daily News used the same font as announcing the end of WWII for the headline, "THE UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON WINS".

Got almost 12 hours in yesterday and I took a little nap in the Bellogio sports book at around 2am. Super card dead most of the time. It was a joy.

Currently learning the rules for the Venetian button straddle. I guess they have last action

This is much more what I’m used to

V has little less than 400 opens to 20, I 3! To 65 with AKs, he calls.

Flop comes AJ4css, he donks 115, I call
Turn 4x, he shoves, I call
River brick
He shows Jc and mucks when I open my hand

And how many $5 limps do you think you're collecting from this guy each month? Sounds like a dull game is your only option.

Very nice maerzen, and a pretty good double IPA too.
What's the historical term for manufactured continuity. The new brewery is just that, and borrowed the original name for branding purposes.

Someone should chart the subjects that bring Venice out of his coffin.
And whether they're associated with things like leap year.

Started listening to DGAF's podcast recently, he mentioned it in one of the hands and I thought it sounded strange but I'm not a straddle expert so I thought maybe I was just an idiot. Not that it's mutually exclusive.

It’s strange for what I’m used to - which is BTN straddle, play starts with SB and goes normally

Venetian appears to b

BTN straddle
Action starts on UTG
If there is a raise - button acts in turn like normal
If there is not a raise, action skips button and Button acts after Bb if no raise from blinds
If blinds raise, I believe action goes around the table like normal

It just seems so overly complicated
