Manasta - Critical self evaluation is hard to do. I have had converstaions with hundreds upon hundreds of semiskilled poker players over the years. Many of these guys think they run worse that anyone else on the planet. Obviously someone has to run the worst but it cant be all of em.

I get sucked out on more than I suck out which should be the case. But I have blasted off bad more times than I can count at this point. I frequently hear people state that they "played perfectly that session". I personally have 10s of thousands of hours in a casino at this point and have yet to accomplish that. I make mistakes every session I play. Most of the time they are small mistakes, but I still make mistakes where I want to punch myself in the face and actually lose sleep over them cuz they are so annoying. I review all of these and try my best to not continue to make them. Can I (constant and neverending improvement) is something that I learned a long time ago and I strive for that daily in things that are important to me.

I would not be where I am as a gambooler without my gamboolin buds. Its really important to have people to disect hands with if you cant see your mistakes (they are there). I am extremely lucky to have street poker chick. We discuss ideas, strat, counter strat, player exploit, etc after every session.

squid face,

How much poker are you playing so far and/or planning on playing in 2024?

Smoola, I have not played pokerz since fall 2022. I fcuking hate the casino environment and everything about it. Gambling (blackjack poker, scamblin, and other gambool) has been my sole source of $ since 1992. I believe I have enuf $ to no longer work and have been seeing how I like not working. It seems to fit me pretty well so I am going with it. That being said I still enjoy thinking about poker and trying to understand various thought processes opponents have. I dont say much in the strat threads but SPC and I enjoy discussing the HH's in those threads.

I will definitely try the hand sitting trick for a while. One of the biggest problems I seem to have is thinking through decisions postflop. Like any decision. I even wrote down a template of the questions I wsnt to ask myself. Then I see a flop, and it all goes away. I feel like the poker embodiment of that Mike Tyson quote, "Everyone has a plan: until they get punched in the face." Where every hand I play starts with me getting punched in the face.

This is the first time ever playing poker completely sober. I'm hoping my focus improves with time and experience. Sad to say, I have never played a hand in my life without at least cannabis and usually with lots of alcohol.
Sir, you were once a co-host on the 43rd** best online radio poker show. I expect only the best from you.

**Had we stayed on air a couple of more weeks I am sure we could have passed over that show where they just shuffled cards for an hour.

This working is for the birds. Way too many meetings tomorrow, but save some pow for me on Friday.

Thank you for the vote of confidence. I expect only to mildly disappoint you. I say mildly because expectations are so low lolol

Drive here was pretty gnarly. Tomorrow is going to be way worse. Had to go around a Snow Plow that had his back wheels hanging off the edge of the road. I’ve never seen those guys slide in my life. Blizzaks FTW.

KingSpew and I looked at the cams and Keystone is already blasting. Looked like 7” and it’s still coming. Jr and I will be hucking 3’s….. and not landing them. He told me he wants to get those down tomorrow.

I’ll try to save some, but no guarantees. Aka… No soup for you.

APD was lucky to get here. Anyone still on east side of the Divide is SOL. All the roads are closed.

Looks like Locals Day with Keystone getting 9" and still pouring down.

We have over a foot, and it's still dumping. Looks wet and heavy. I'll find out soon when I dig out Mrs Turtle so she can get to an appointment.

Studded snow tires appear to have been a good choice.

Studded is way overkill for front range folks. Get the blizzaks next time.

Out of curiosity, looked at Bravo. Monarch's open, one table of 1-3 with 5 on the wait.

I guess it could be people who stayed up there last night, but I was surprised to see anything running.

Except i barely drive it in the front range. During the winter, it goes to the mountains and back. Car is 2.5yrs old with <10k miles on it.

They've 100% saved my ass on berthoud and loveland passes, and the descent into Silverthorne.

Pretty light day up here. Snow didn’t pile up like I thought it would, but plenty of stashes and the trees are killer. Spew and I ducked in and out and we were squealing like little girls in there.

Still unsure if I can get home. If not…. We ride again tomorrow!

Abasin didn't open up today due to the storm and avi conditions. If mrs turtle bails I may end up pivoting there as I expect it will be firing on all cylinders.

5 hours later and we finally made it home. Major roads were closed, so we went the back way. Almost home and some ding dong that didn’t know about snow got them and two truckers twisted up which caused us about an hour delay waiting for them to clean it up. Saw mucho stupidity on the road today, and these were the absolute worst conditions I have ever driven in. No, guy, your RWD mustang (and a civic) isn’t going to handle hard packed, ice drifted roads.

Riding was bueno tho! We made it to the outback later in the day and there was some really good snow back there. We had some frustration tears on a really steep and mogully black…… but I guess I’ll get over it.
