Yeah, that YouTuber is FOS. So is Lutrell's book, but not because of a giant Navy conspiracy.
The situation with Luttrell is complicated. Ed Darrack's book "Victory Point" discusses the operation as it tied into the larger USMC operation his book discusses. Very briefly, the 'Lone Survivor' operation was a giant screwup. Not so much because 3 of the 4 SEALs died, though that was awful, but because their QRF got blown out of the sky too, killing an additional 16 JSOC personnel. That big of a disaster, (cf Jessica Lynch,) unfortunately encourages those involved and in the chain of command, to create and run with a narrative that justifies the sacrifice, throwing medals at the participants, etc...
Which is a long way from the the usual discussion at 2+2, so I'll stop there. Happy to explain any of the acronyms.
I'm very sorry to read about things like nerve damage, separations leading to divorce, and other bad news in these last couple of pages. I hope things improve for you all and your loved ones.
