Merry Christmas and happy holidays, everyone.

I guess sugar hangovers are a thing because I didn't have anything to drink last night.

Hangovers are mostly dehydration. We're you drinking your sugar with caffeine?

I was mostly joking. I just woke up this morning feeling exactly like I ate too many cookies last night. Which makes a lot of sense because I did.

Hope everyone has a nice holiday. Went for a nice long post-breakfast walk, found $20 laying there. Pretty nice present!

Lamb came out nicely. Reverse seared to 110 and then grilled to ~120', rested up to 125'

Virtually everything I drive to is within 5 minutes of my house with a 30 to 35mph speed limit and I don't have a need to ever drive further than 12 minutes from my house, so I can't really justify spending much on transportation. Plus, I am averse to putting money into things that cost me money (without making me money). I suppose the things that most fit that criteria for me are my vehicles, my dogs, and my swimming pool. All 3 are money sucks to some degree, although I enjoy my dogs and my pool much moreso than my vehicles.

That's me today trying to re-book reservations with Caesars. Long story short, I made a mistake and booked my reservations for the wrong days. I call reservations and there is an extra fee for making/changing reservations over the phone. I agree to that fee but then on top of that I noticed that there were some unknown fees added to my new reservation. After investigating for 20 minutes the agent was unable to adequately explain to me what these fees may be so I just cancelled my reservations.

Beg to differ but hope everyone had a merry Christmas.

I did more root vegetables, this time with ginger, coriander, orange zest, and turmeric.

I also made the mincemeat pie. No bacon but my BIL made a Xmas goose and I poured some of the drippings into the pie mix.

Myth. It's more the breakdown of ethanol into more toxic substances before its fully metabolised. Absolutely properly hydrating will help but if it was mainly dehydration you could cure hangovers with a couple of mugs of cold water, which sadly you cannot.

Hangovers are mostly a result of dehydration and drinking non-Texan vodka.

BTW, I was now able to re-book on Caesars website. I think most of my issues revolve around booking multiple reservations and only being able to use a particular rate code for 1 reservation

That sucks Doc. I have been hearing about travel disruptions all week. It is usually someone else's problem as I live and go to places that have no weather.

I got a bottle of Balvenie 15 from a client for Christmas and it is ****ing nectar. Nicest scotch Ive ever drunk

That may change on NYD as a buddy is bringing over two very very exciting looking Japanese scotches but for now it’s #1

You're a good candidate for an electric bike, if it suits your dog hauling needs sufficiently.

I generally can cure a hangover with a liter or two of water, if I can keep it down. If you're ever been severely dehydrated and had to get a sline drip, it feels almost exactly like a hangover, because it mostly is. And if you get a sline drip when you're hungry over, so you don't have to fight to metabolize the water, it cures the hangover very quickly.

Also, if you can manage to drink a liter or two of water before you go to sleep drunk, you can usually avoid a hangover almost entirely.

Yamazaki 2016 special edition is the headliner but I would probably feel bad about drinking that.

He also has a Yamazaki and two different Hibikis

Very nice, enjoy! Don’t feel bad, he obviously wants to share. Now if you went to his place and poured it into a Diet Coke then he’d be right to be pissed.

I know this is a well known phenomenon but this is my first time seeing it a few days in a row.

Weekday games are much crazier than weekend ones. Small sample size and might be because it's Xmas but waaaaay more gambooooool than I'm used to. It's great.

I don’t drink alcohol any more, but when I did I don't think ive ever had hangovers as bad as those experienced in New Orleans after drinking what is basically sugar and grain alcohol in Hand Grenades and the like.

Example hand, pretty sure details are right:

LOL I know you dgaf about HHs, but just so you can see how horribly mental this game is:

UTG opens to 15, 2 calls, MP to 45, BB cold calls, UTG flats, UTG 1 flats

Flop ($180) - Kh Td 6h

BB leads 40, UTG calls, UTG1 calls, MP 105, BB calls, UTG back jams covering, UTG1 folds, MP snap calls all in for about 375, BB thinks and hates his life and calls all in for his like 480.

Turn and river don't pair and complete backdoor flush in diamonds

Showdown:

BB - K6dd

UTG - AKcc

MP somehow QhJd

Ugh hand grenades are so disgusting. I'm normally a glutton for booze but I would seriously consider passing on a hand grenade these days.
