PSA - 4 you guys that have kids. Its cliche but they grow up fcuking fast. Get out and share as many experiences with em as you possibly can. My kid just left Utah and is heading back to NYC after hanging with me skiing for the past 5 weeks. We had an absolute blast but it was not nearly enough time and I have the sads real bad.

Feel for ya, squid. My kids have flown the coop but whenever we get time to spend together, it's sublime.

Fatal shark attack off a Sydney beach today. It was an ocean swimmer just offshore and there’s actually some footage of it out there on the interweb.

Not super clear but you see the mass of the Great White and a fair amount of spurting claret.

Our oceans are the warmest they’ve ever been right now due to the La Nińa pattern we’ve got and thats flushed out giant schools of bait fish and therefore sharks and dolphins everywhere.

We became empty nesters late last year, but thankfully all three of the stepkids live within an hour of us. We visit with one of them (and her dogs) once a week for TV-and-dinner night, and see the others on a semi-regular basis for various family events. Would be pretty tough if any of them decide to move out of ratrace land and far away into a quieter part of the province... which is always a possibility.

Orcas would defeat sharks in water and bears on land.

I didn't realize Alec Baldwin was coming out with any movies after his little gun issue. It looks pretty good. Will check it out.

In the dumbass listicle I saw about apex predators, both Orcas and Great Whites were listed.

To be honest, the saltwater crocs scare me the most.

Great whites have little chance against orcas. Great whites are just dumb fish and they have a very glaring weakness: when flipped upside down they enter a catatonic state. Orcas are highly intelligent mammals that are able to exploit this weakness. Also, male orcas are up to 4 times heavier than full sized great whites. It's just an ass whooping all around. Great whites tend to clear out when orcas are around.

I could definitely stomp a rat and a cat. Prolly take on a goose but I dont think it would be fun. If the med size dog was extra mild mannered I might have a shot. After that I would need weapons fosho

People greatly underestimate how badly a chimp would **** them up.

i think eagle is the last debatable one as a lot of that would depend upon how the eagle attacked and how the human responded

but i say that knowing this

after that just no chance, chimpanzees have accidentally dismembered their handlers during shows of dominance

and while there are some cool vids of the outback of people punching roos, at the same time the roo isn't really interested in the fight, if he was out for blood then like a chimp he's way stronger and better equipped

i do think you could probably 50/50 stomp on a cobra before it strikes, not that i'm taking that chance though
