Coffee maker stopped working. After some research via Goggle Academy and University of YouTube, I've figured out that the heating element has gone bad. Easy fix, right? Wrong.

I go to the manufacturers website and they say "our coffee makers are not intended to be repaired. We do not sell interior parts."

Welcome to the disposable world.

Garick - what do you think about the internet, just a fad or here to stay?

Hot takes 25 years late - let’s go through them all

Surely you have better things to do than repair a Mr Coffee?

Welcome to the disposable world.

You could probably find a similar heating element somewhere on the interwebs. At least similar enough that there are only minor modifications needed, since you seem to want to fix it rather than purchase a new one

Who flipped the coffee doom switch? My not so miraculo milk frother came apart today at the stirring device. I sort of put it back but it looks like a seal or something dissolved away. I think it's only 10 months old.

Jamming in a substitute heater? What could happen? Probably want a smaller one, imo Mr C heats way above optimal.

So you're saying you blew a seal?

Spoiler:
Or is it only frothy milk?

Seems like it has some staying power, but ask me in another 25 years.

If it were a Mr. Coffee, sure. It could **** right off. Once it gets into three figs, I consider it worth tinkering with.

Considered it. Thought about going to Goodwill and buying a similarly sized machine to take the element out of it. But then the NFL games started, so I tossed the damn thing.

The few tracks I recognized were early 2000s. Also saw this guy Sven Vath on the same stage afterwards if you’re familiar. I had never heard of him but he was really good. Looked him up afterwards and sounds like he’s a legend.

Never heard of him either - will check him out

Fun fact, (and apologies if I’ve mentioned before) Sasha was one year older than me at the same high school. I hardly knew him and he definitely wasn’t ‘cool’. Didn’t play sport and iirc he was in the choir, which was a big no no at our school.

He left and went to university and within two years he was a club legend and then a few years later he was the biggest DJ in the world. I got into the DJ booth at an open air show he did at Bondi Beach on NYE 2000 and it was pretty cool seeing him do his stuff
