Depends on the course. If you aren't playing with many par 4s over 400 yards, or whatever takes it to driver into 3 wood/2 or 3 iron, shooting a 90 is probably the more relevant part.

I used to caddy at Medinah and playing at the white didn't change that much except on a couple holes, usually par 4s with a sharp turn that makes the 3 wood off the tee less risky.

Ehhh shorter is shorter and thus results in lower scoring. This is even more pronounced effect for high handicap players. Virtually no one should be hitting 2 iron anymore

I haven't caddied in almost 15 years. I don't disagree, but the whites mattered little for these guys. The handicaps was more relevent than getting to hit a 6 iron instead of a 4/5 iron.

Don't disagree with the 2 iron part, but they were decently common with the members in the early 2000s. Even saw a few 1 irons XD. Heard the joke about them before I ever saw Billions XD

Although from the reds it was actually a par 75 whereas from the whites it is only a par 72, so I have that going for me.

Yeah 2I was certainly more prevalent in early 2000's. I was one of the first competitive players in my area to embrace the tech and went so far as to have 5 headcovers in my bag at various times. Generally DR, 3W, 7W and 2 hybrids though I had a 9 W that I don't think I ever used in competition.

He is using manly and macho in ways that I can't believe anyone who isn't in the 80s-90s would use in that way seriously/unsarcasticlly. But I don't think it's even close to the level of thread lockage, but whatever.

Im going to Florida for the first time since before I was 21. Near Orlando. Any suggestions for some poker near there? I will have a lot of dead time while waiting for a buddy of mine to get married. Thank god they aren't having it as Disney World.

Cross posting from golf chat thread:

Took a golf trip to the Colorado mountains last weekend, played gypsum creek, red sky ranch (fazio) 3x and both Keystone courses in three days. Scoring was mixed, as someone whose never even played 36 in one day before the second round each day was grindy. But with my handicap and some good teammate support I was able to win lots of Nassau bets. Great wildlife including an American bald eagle at red sky ranch. Great times!
