They couldn't even tell me if the drill itself was broke because the current battery doesn't fit. So I found a battery repair store way up north and paid them $40 to repair the battery. Then I got home and realized I had already thrown away the charger. I assume it's like the battery and cannot be replaced.
If I count the worrying I think I have spent about 6 hours trying to fix the cheapest drill available in 2015, which is far more time than I actually used it.
$40 to fix a battery of the lowest grade cordless drill HD/Lowe’s carries is a waste of time and money. You would have been better off just buying a new tool/battery combo.
If you’re only going to use a tool once in a blue moon, look at Harbor Freight, the off brands on Amazon, Black and Decker, or Hart from Walmart. They’re all cheap. Buy them, use them, then chuck them or sell them in FB marketplace and rinse/repeat the next time you need it in several years. Better than storing something you rarely use anyway.
