Dealt with some exceptionally noisy guests at the movies last Sunday...I asked them politely to shut up a few times and they quieted down but kept talking; anyways, told the staff and they did nothing so a I filled a (very polite) complaint and the GM said he wants to give me free tickets to my next couple shows.

Did you politely inform them you're a shareholder and whip out your robinhood account?

I really think they overpaid, but we'll see.
A 2p2 member put his entire liquid net worth in on that, check out the sb section titled "flying to Vegas to leave a bet"

Yeah, I saw the link in the SE thread and checked it out. Still think they overpaid, but when there's a guy you really want, I guess you have to.

Pretty much; told him I've been going to the theatre at least once a week for the past four years and that I now travel 25 miles to go there.

I think the air conditioning wasn't working at my game today. I had two girls stand behind me fanning me to cool me down. The Chinese emperor treatment.

Worked at a theater when I was 16. The general policy was to ask people to be quiet but we weren’t allowed to ask them to leave. They’d rather appease you by giving you free ticket than piss off the other people because movie theaters make their money from concessions, not really box office.

It was explained to me that opening week the theater made 0% of box office sales, 2nd week 10% of sales, 3rd week 20%, etc, etc. considering most movies never make it more than a few weeks, they’re not losing money by giving you free tickets. Plus you’re more likely to use those free tickets on a new movie rather than an 3+ week old movie

This is just the best poker pod I can find. Busquests is also very good but for different reasons

I guess I’d rather give my money to a fun looking happy dude than headphone grinder man

Just got back from early morning biking on slickrock. Had zero clue the amt of fun I was missing. If you like action and adventure it is a beautiful mars scape with views of distant snow capped peaks. Truly stunning.

For those not hip, slickrock is a sandstone that is kind of like rolling hills and can be quite steep but is surprisingly grippy so you can pedal or drive up stuff that appears impossible (redneck heaven - bunch o yahoos taking their 4x4 rigs up and down this). Fun as hell to navigate up and down

Idk wtf that article was getting at but there's a difference between reacting to the movie and shouting the entire movie, taking facetime calls, running up and down the aisles every five minutes, etc. They even tell you before the movie not to be disruptive, so this is all ridiculous.

People like him are why I only get raisinets at the movies. IF we have to accept that some people are going talk over the movie then he can accept that some people pelt him with chocolate missiles.

Bring a candy that really sucks instead. Like candy corn or some ish like that.

Don't waste perfectly good chocolate (and raisins) on some asswipe.

Anyone ever rented a car through Turo? Thoughts? A one day rental is looking like $250 this weekend through a regular rental company, so I'm seriously considering renting someone's car of Turo.

I'm with Alan that it's fine to react together and make occasional commentary but once you start having normal conversations and talk on the phone you're no longer watching a movie

Chinese people regularly answer the phone and lengthy phone conversations without leaving the theater, it's the worst

Alan's post insinuated that it's okay to do whatever the **** you want in a theatre.
