On to the hand. Nit opens 7x from utg - I haven’t seen him play a hand in 3 hours. I call with 75o from utg +1 because I know I can see a flop and just play some poker.
MP, solid pro, 3 bets to 35bb, button who is a good TAG flats, utg flats and I call. I know if I hit my cards I’m likely good because nobody has shown much strength.
The flop is A Q 7 and I have back door clubs. It folds to MP who bets half pot, utg calls and I’m priced in with all my equity. The solver says I can raise here 38% of the time but with my reading ability, I think a call shows the most profit.
Turn is another A. Utg checks and I just decide to shove here with 2 pair to get value from KJ and J10 plus any underpairs to the board. Anyway, They both call. Somehow UTG has QQ and MP woke up with AK but I think my play is solid.
Anyway, what kind of bankroll do I need to play 5/10 for a living?
This reminds me of a hand from about 15 years ago, shortly after Holdem became legal in CA.
Lots of action preflop, the guy on my immediate left calls 3! preflop, calls a raise on the flop, calls the turn and facing a river bet shows me pocket 2's and says: "I can't believe I didn't hit a set".
He was serious!
