I listened to Suburbs and Sprawl II. Both mostly too slow for me.

Then fortunately I persisted (thanks Skwid for the review/story). I like Ready to Start.
The third one is City With No Children. If you think Sprawl II is too slow you probably won't like Arcade Fire too much

edit: Oh Ready to Start good stuff too. If you like something a bit more uptempo try the song that Rick posted Rebellion (Lies)

Gotcha...haven't listened to it enough to be honest. Here is James covering one of my early 80's songs by Human League (may have posted this before). This is so ****ing good

I think they also have some other content like movies and tv shows.

I mainly use it to watch stand up comedy, battle rap, Funk Flex freestyles, Joe Rogan's podcast, and look up different tutorials on things.
They're definitely ad-creeping, I usually close the window to give them a data point.

big thing though is if you do it, commit to communicating with another male who is educated to avoid sounding super effeminate and subservient, the translation of the language is very imprecise and for all intents and purposes the intonation of "yes master" and "ok" can both be translated as "ok" and there is a large segment of the population who still actively use the "yes master" variant so you want to be sure you're learning from someone who wouldn't speak like that
There's a famous confession story that goes something like:

And you went into the victim's house?
yes sir

And you struck him with a hatchet?
yes sir

And you left him dead on the floor?
yes sir

Problem is the interviewee is a Navajo who knows 'yessir' as a way of saying "I acknowledge your authority" and probably auto-says it to any pale face in a uniform.

Eventually, guy not in the hand looks at him and says “bro, it was a bomb pot. If he turned his cards over you still would have called afterwards.”

Fun times.

I doubt he has unlimited time. btw Walking niece&nephew went to Chinese immersion grammar school. They were able to translate on the family trip to China.

I don't see it's a huge faux pas if an American speaks another language crudely. They know who's talking.

I find them just ok but have heard the sentiment you preach a few times before.

I mean, I’m pretty certain they’re doing more than alright for themselves.
I enjoy a lot of their catalogue though, not saying I don’t like them.
I think they’ve got as much moniez/attention as they’d care for though.
Not sure they are MASSIVELY popular but certainly popular in some circles. They kind of straddle that line between mainstream popularity and hip, Pitchfork approved music. That they are able to make a long term "business" out of their music is pretty badass IMO

Spoon aren't massively popular.

Take a look at their wikipedia discography.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spoon_discography#Singles

They are very moderately successful in the adult alternative music segment.

This video - which Garick shouldn't watch- which I think is one of their best songs and videos only has 650,000 views.

To put this in context the Genghis Khan song had 41 million views. The video I posted with the Green Day remake had 8 million views. Another song I mention, Trouble by Cage the Elelphant which is a popular alternative band had another 40 million views.

Probably back then about ~8K in the town and ~15K all told in the outskirts. But it's extremely easy to be isolated from the world as a teen in the 80s pre-interwebz / no cable TV (3 channels, 2 of them the same!) / one lol radio station.

Roman generals were said to have required a slave at their side during their triumphs who would repeatedly whisper, "memento mori" in their ear... "Remember, you are mortal".

Zuck should just hire some masculine dude to stay at his side and constantly make him practice his language skills like a man.

I can play in this game. The big thing about my town was it was 30 miles of trees to get to the next small town and then 50 more miles of trees to get to the nearest big town. 5k people. We drove that 30 miles to play a high school game against the next town over. Movies came to our theatre 6 months after opening.

You got me beat on the cable and radio thing though.

Okay okkk... poor adjective choice on my part with “massive”.
They’re doing more than fine is what I was meaning.
And “Inside Out” is one of my favs by them.
They have several releases I enjoy quite a bit.

Last one of the day...virtually positive GG will not have heard 3 songs off this in our O/U game

Spoiler:

I was admittedly late to this record. Most fans would probably rate To Pimp a Butterfly ahead of this but not me.

lullz prob not buffy. Tho they did a reasonably good cover of one of my favorite artists recently

There may be some additional hip hop showing up later so PREPARE YOUR ANUS (to paraphrase skip)

We should have done a gamble gamble with the O/U deal...something where you have to have an avatar of my choice if I win...tho like you say not sure if I am winning or losing

I've never understood the hip hoppy thing. But each to their own, ldo.

Even when transferring over all my albums to my iPod, I questioned whether I should include "Radio Song" by REM off of Out of Time (like half the song but can't stomach the other half). I lol when it comes up in the rotation.

Any Kendrick release is dynamite.
It’s not just his deliveries.
The music is incredible as well.

Someone I've heard of.

the final monologue sort of makes it something other than a song.
