No fee index fund mimicking SP500 is prob the best way to go.

Mutual funds are scams due to the expenses

Hedge funds are even bigger scams as they have larger expenses

Bankrate.com has some cool calculators to play with. I also find it interesting to look at how the interest and principal change during the life of a loan

Motley Fool is just a conglomeration of articles ranging from mostly pure trash to once in awhile an ok article and everything in between.

But their marketing should give you a hint, "Click here to find the next 10 magic stocks that are poised to rocket!"

Suze Orman is a complete fraud with 0 credentials.

Dave Ramsey is ok for people who can't manage credit card debt and are better off only using cash because they have 0 financial sense.

I was at a big 'ol second hand shop in Texas a few years back and they had a ton of colorful upholstered benches that looked really familiar. Just as I was pondering it, someone said "look, old Chi Chi's seats." Sure enough, it was all the seating from a local Chi Chi's. I'd been overseas when the brand tanked and hadn't even noticed that they were gone, as all those "Gringo-mexican" chains seem pretty much the same to me.

I don't hate him. Just saying he's not exactly a top investing mind. And even in the personal finance realm the stuff he does is clearly not optimal. But he knows his audience and hence his limp with AA and only put in money with the nuts type financial strat. Which again isn't terrible for most people because the bar is pretty low so almost any advice will be an improvement.
