Yeah I haven’t read any of that. I'm just going off the fact that he's 6'2" and has played plenty of basketball.

Though the counter point of course would also be if he has played that much basketball and is 6'2" why can't he dunk already?

It seems to me that dunking is more correlated with squats than actual basketball? I'm fat and haven't played basketball in 15 years but I have some hops.

I'd say it has a lot more to do with technique and amount of fast twitch fibers in your calves and how much you develop them.

Squats of course will help, but when I was in high school I was able to dunk a softball ala RobFarha and I had never done a barbell squat in my life.

Yeah, for sure. Goal is ackshually to dunk in game, my bad, but it’s just a fun motivational goal that’ll be in the back of my head. That’s why I’m giving myself 4 years.

as many as I can - am 50 in July.

Won’t get anywhere near my lower body strength numbers or my power numbers but thinking about upper body lifts and a few erg and assault bike ones

May also go for a body fat % one but not sure I’ve got it in me

Nice. I plan to get a Dexa early next year once I crack into the 180s just out of curiosity. I never had one. If I were to venture a guess I think I'd be around 18% in that weight range.

Y u no splurge and go hydrostatic?

I actually have no idea which is more expensive but my understanding is hydro is more accurate

Oh is it? I didn't know. I looked around through Yelp and didn't find too many options around where I am. There's a Dexa place pretty close and I read it's accurate within 1% so that's good enough for me. I never saw any other options.

my Dexa numbers have always been higher that I was expecting. When I was peak crossfit and by my standards very lean, I was 16.2%. We used to get tested with callipers when I played rugby and I was about the 12% mark with those..but I think that's the equivalent of about 15% on the DEXA

Feel wrath - up for body fat prop bet.

Last time we had a prop bet I lost like 15 lbs - and have never been able to repeat that without you haha

I am starting out much fatter - so we would need to figure something fair

Happy New Year boys and girls. I saw off the prick of a year that was 2020 with an 18 year old Scotch.

We have a 24 hour reprieve from our lockdown so having some friends over for lunch, drinks and PEDs today

yeah it definitely helps to have some $$ on the line.

I’m not starting anything for a few weeks as I (hopefully...lockdown permitting) have a holiday in mid Jan but can chat then if you haven’t got started.

I’ve just started a thread in health and fitness so can connect on it in there if you still frequent that forum?

So 2020 was overall a pretty good year for me.

I lost a ton of poker time during the first wave of covid, but once I got into private games and started getting good results and saw what was possible, I kept setting my goals higher and higher. I wanted to make $300K from poker in 2020, and after a heater in December I sat at $295K with 2 weeks still to go. $300K seemed like a formality at this point, but after 3 sessions in a row of running like trash I lost back $35K and was back down to $260K. This honestly put me on pretty big tilt, but I re-grouped and determined that I was going to take no more off days for the rest of the year and try to win as much as I could.

I didn't run amazingly but I grinded out a lot of tough wins, playing 10 hours a day, every day. Sometime after Christmas I started experiencing light headaches. In the back of my mind I thought covid was a possibility, but I thought the easiest explanation was that I was simply overworked and not getting enough rest. I didn't really have other covid symptons anyway. I started taking an Adderall every day to keep me alert enough to continue playing long sessions, and the Adderall even made my headaches go away! I was winning most of my sessions and was going to give this a real run.

With 2 days left to the year I grinded back up to $292K and was feeling optimistic about my chances. I got food from a McDonald's drive through and that's when it finally hit me. My diet coke tasted less than half sweet and the fries tasted greasy without being salty. ****, I really do have covid. I had probably had it for a few days but that was the confirmation I needed. I drove home and started noticing other symptoms, although most are mild. I felt like I didn't have any energy at all and just wanted to sleep. So that's what I have been doing for most of the past 24 hours. Alternating sleep with drinking hot water.

Fitting that in the year of covid, covid would be the reason my run is cut short. At least now I finally get to take a break. Happy new year to you degens.
