The $50 open is pretty huge considering no limpers and no straddle, but this opponent has been feeling pretty frustrated for the past hour. He seems to be card dead and trying to make things happen with whatever playable hand he can get.
The CO is a pretty snug older Asian lady who I have a bit of a history with. She is usually very strong when continuing on any street and only raises whenever she has an absolute premium (AA, KK). She will flat QQ and AK.
Getting 2 additional callers after the $50 open is a bit uncomfortable and I contemplated flatting given the CO is in the hand, but going multiway with this hand in particular just sounds like a disaster and I would rather get value now and thin the field to reduce any kind of postflop mistakes.
I think I could've made my raise size a bit larger? Something like $250-$275?
On the flop the board is somewhat dry for a pretty sizable 3bet pot. LA players are usually very call happy and there are only so many combos that would continue. I can safely eliminate AA and KK so I essentially have the best overpair in this spot. 65 is not very likely and all the possible sets with the exception of 77's.
The only hands I see continuing are AKcc specifically or all other overpairs below QQ's.
I would think firing on the flop would be the best option, but for how much? I tend to have a leak in my bet sizing where I usually bet half pot more often than not, but I would love some more info as to when to raise 1/4, 3/4, full pot, etc.
Lol Jesus Christ. Open to 10x and two calls? Whoever says poker is dead is crazy.
Definitely needs to be more on the 3 bet. Like 300-350 is good. You’re deep.
Size appropriate to make the turn a shove on a blank. Like 450. It’s big for this board, but this hand is already off the rails.
